If the dinosaurs dont fit- what about all the bones in the museums?

Exactly, since we have bones in the museums it means that it's not dinosaurs that doesn't fit with Genesis, it's Genesis (or literal 6-day interpretation of) that doesn't fit with the Dinosaurs.

I am neither an evolutionist nor a creationist. Check out my profile. :D

By the way, welcome to Debate & Discussions. Watch out, for there are a lot of nasty athiests out here hungry for fresh meat. Don't worry, for I'm not one of them - it's not the full moon here... ...yet ;).

I guess if dinosaurs were also wiped out in the Great Flood then the bones would still remain?
So they must have been alive at some point, and before Adam was made?
Yes?
The problem here is that all the evidence falsifies the Global flood. There are lots of trace fossils of dinosaurs (and other organisms too), such as footprints, dried dinosaur poo (dried and then fossilised) burrows and all sorts that could not be deposited underwater, covering great depths of the geological record. There are even fossilised raindrops. There are stacks of other bits of flood falsifying evidence too, I am just focussing on dinosaurs here since that seems to be your interest :)

nevertheless, dinosaurs, apart from their avian ancestors, went extinct some 60 odd million years ago, shortly after the Chixulub impact.

The dinosaurs were a part of the old world that was here before. Only a small remenant of them survived. Crocodiles and turtles for example. Both do still get big if they live long enough. Crocodiles can get up to 25 feet in size and turtles can get up to three or four foot in size.

Hi can someone please fill me in as to where they come in the chain of events in the Creation?
Presume before Adam was made they roamed the Earth?

Please tell me! Thanks in advance!

........

Now behold behemoth, which I made along with you; he eats grass like an ox; see, now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the muscles of his belly. He hangs his tail like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are knit together. His bones are like tubes of bronze; his bones are like bars of iron. He is the first of the ways of God; his Maker brings near his sword. For the mountains yield food for him, and all the beasts of the field play there. He lies under the lotus, in the hiding place of the reed and the marsh. The lotus trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook surround him. Behold, though a flood presses, he does not run away; he feels safe even if Jordan swells up to his mouth. Shall any take him before his eyes, or pierce through his nose with cords?

(Job 40:15-24)

its funny that Im reading all the commentators who are saying ''elephant, hippo and such......';tail like a cedar'' eh.....:)

The word was 'penis'. It was the prudish nature of 17th century England that changed the word to tail when the KJV was 'manufactured'.

I thought this was as well known as the Reed sea somehow becoming the Red Sea.

Strange.... I didn't know that dinosaurs with teeth like Tyrannosaurus and Allosaurus, etc, ate grass. Also, I didn't know that they wielded swords. I also seem to recall quite a number a dinosaurs that were rather small.

Yes?
There was no Great Flood. Scientists who were also Christians and many of whom were ministers showed that the Great Flood never happened by 1831.

The straight answer is that Creation did not happen by a literal reading of Genesis 1. That is, God did not create that way.

The evidence God left us in His Creation says God created by the processes discovered by science. That is, the earth is old and dinosaurs (a large Sub-Class consisting of thousands of species) lived from about 180 million to 65 million years ago. The last of the dinosaurs went extinct at the extinction event at the end of the Cretaceous 65 mya.

BTW, there is a recent news article of an intermediate fossil in dinosaur evolution! http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,9729800%255E2703,00.html

I don't think the word that was translated as tail meant tail in the original Hebrew.;)

From H2179 (in the original sense of flapping); the tail (literally or figuratively): - tail.
