  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Alas, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped back at Npetreley.

What matter of science or faith would you like to discuss to put the discussion back on track?

I do get a little excited sometimes, and I do need to learn to be a little bit more gentle in my responses.

Well it would be nice to talk more about ideas having to do with dinosaurs, their extinction (or lack thereof), theories reguarding the extinction, etc.

Also, I just have to respond to this:

Well I have read all of your information here and I just had to laugh. Really, the person that is reading the evolution propoganda can u find any scientist to agree with it at all. Don't u think it is interesting that all the people that suppy so called proof of this are never the people that study that field? There is a reason why any scientist that studies and field will never say that the proof is in his field. The reason is because it is not.

Hey do I count?  I'm still in grad school, but you could call me a scientist....I do scientific research.  As for the idea that people that supply the proof never study in the field [of biology]-- well I'm absolutly amazed.  100% of the evidence for evolution comes from people work in that field.  I know many research scientists, all of whom believe in evolution and all of whom do research in biology.  Check out any department of biology in any university, you will find them full of researchers that believe in evolution and that do research in biology.  Your statement is nonsense.

Ocean, it's because they (for the most part) are not looking at it as an examination of evidence and then use of the best explanation for the evidence. It is being looked at as something that conflicts with their religion (or at least it conflicts with some of the dogma that they believe). As such it isn't about looking at evidence, it's about their religion vs. what they see as another religion (even though it isn't). With this type of thinking, evolution MUST be evil and therefore MUST be rejected. I find this to be really silly, but there you have it.
