In Genesis 7:11b "all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened." We all know about plate technotics and how the "fountains of the great deep burst open". Even we know about the ring of fire. What is not so clearly understood in regards to the demise of Pangaea is where the "floodgates of the sky were opened".
Genesis 1:6 "Then God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters." 7 God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were below the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so."
We know at the time of the dinosaurs the atmosphere was a lot more humid. They believe the sky was a pink color at the time. This water fell to the earth and the age of dinosaurs came to an end. We then see a time when the primates or mammals began to evolved and develop.
This is what they call a paradigm where Noah's flood was a shadow and a type of the world that was destroyed at the time of the dinosaurs. According to some people God breathed on the waters as they flooded the earth and this was the beginning of the Ice age. Even a lot of the earth was covered with Ice until the beginning of this current age we live in around 12,900 years ago.
