Welcome to CF, and may all your journeys here be blessed!

There is much the Bible does not clarify for us that we'd like to know.
Genesis, especially, was intended to be a brief summary of God's actions with His chosen people for the Israelites after their recent delivery from slavery in Egypt, not a scientific text or detailed description of all of creation.

My best guess is that most of the dinosaurs were killed out by man long before the time of Moses, although I'll leave room for other things possibly affecting their demise - say like cosmological events surrounding the fall of "Satan" and other rebellious angels, or other possibilities God simply did not wish to be recorded in Scripture.

In reference to my dinosaur post, about dinosaurs being mentioned in the book of Job (not Genesis): Both the first five books of the Bible, and the Book of Job, were a written depiction (inspired by God of course) of oral history, that had gone on for hundreds or even thousands of years. Most conservative scholars believe that the Book of Job actually predates Moses and the Exodus of the Israelites out of Egypt. In fact, it is believed to be the oldest Biblical manuscript. They believe Job to have lived around 2,000 BC, or within a few hundred years, or less, after the Flood. Job speaks of dinosaurs as if they were either alive at that time, or within social history (like everyone knows that George Washington was the first president of the United States - knowledge passed down first hand, by people who were there at the time). God allows man to eat - "And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth..." (Genesis 9:2). "Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things." (Genesis 9:3) So it appears that people before the flood may have been vegetarians (?), but after the Flood, as Noah and his family were to replenish the earth, they were allowed to kill and eat, and there was a fear in the animals. That would infer that the animals, including dinosaurs, were not afraid of man prior to the Flood. I agree that post-Flood man probably killed the dinosaurs, along with the fact that the post-Flood world was several degrees colder - resulting in the cold-blooded reptiles/dinosaurs being slower to move and easier to kill. I have to disagree that the Bible doesn't have the answers. I believe, the older I get, I'm 38, that the Bible has the answers to whatever questions we have in modern day life, not to mention in the areas of Science, astronomy, and even microbiology. Whenever science discovers something new they are usually just catching up to what they Bible has already revealed somewhere. By using the Bible and a common sense approach to nature and history (usually that can be backed up by scientific method), I believe there are many things that the Bible can tell us, that is relevant to the 21st century. What do you think? :)

Doesn't Leviathan sound incredible! Fire breathing, armored, and nothing could hurt it! I would have loved to see one (from a distance, of course). And what about Behemoth, sounds like a Brontosaurus to me - a tail like a cedar - look at a cedar tree and it looks very similar. It even talks about a Unicorn - I personally believe from the description, that it was a Protoceratops - a one-horned Triceratops. I've found some really cool pictures of Protoceratops on the net. What do you think?

If you're reading this and wondering what we are talking about - read the book of Job - it's all in there (especially the last 5 or so chapters).

Based on the actions of Cain, or the introduction of sin in general to man's actions, I think it's a fair guess to assume that (as recounted at Babel) man's pride, aggressive nature, and disrespect for God's will led to carnivorous activity among all His creatures prior to the flood. It seems natural to think of men especially killing the largest creatures as trophys. I agree that a post-Flood climate was not as uniform as before, and closer to what we experience today. The 'ice age' may have actually been part of the "waters recedeing from the earth", to collect the waters in a different, though similarly managable, way as before the Flood.
I agree that the Bible has a lot of information we still haven't fully accessed, and is relevant for all times. But we must take into account the purposes behind what God presents to us. He doesn't tell us everything we want to know, only what He wants us to know, and what is good for us to know.
"Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written" John 21:25
