Quite some time ago, I'd suspect maybe as long as two or three months ago (which is a very long time in these forums) I posted a plea for help in decorating the dining hall for my son's rehearsal dinner. I recieved some very good suggestions from many of you on these forums. My son is an avid fisherman, outdoorsy type and my new daughter-in-law is a musician/pianist, so I tried to docorate in themes that reflected both of their interests. Their wedding was last week and I thought everthing was so beautifully done and went off without a hitch. I'm going to try to post a few pics here. (I hope you will be able to pull them up. I've had a lot of trouble posting pictures here in these forums but maybe they'll work this time.)
This is the "wedding cake," made from cupcakes. I thought it was very pretty and ingenious. All of her flowers were white tulips, which were so elegant but also very simple.
The background was a piece of driftwood and the two pictures frames are some that I found at a yard sale. I put pictures of my son and his girlfriend when they were about 4 or 5 years old into them. Then the music sheets are some pages taken from an old hymn book that I tore out and burned the edges of, and the miniature gold piano I found at a dollar store. Then the bobber and fishing flies were things I found in my son's tackelbox. The wooden "candle tray" was also something that he and his girlfriend found at the riverbank when they got the driftwood for me.
