They have some ok songs, not my favorite band though, favorite song would be live version of Kings of the carnival creation (10 times better than cd version) and Mourning Palace.

VOICE OF THUNDER: I have Antestor's "return of the black death" cd, not bad. When I was Christian metalhead it was one of my faves. I also had Extols first 3 cd's, but I though that they started going downhill after the third{"undecieved"}. I had and still have ALOT of Christian metal, particularly Christian death amnd black metal; I've been trying to sell and get rid of most of it since I apostasized, but I may keep a few of the really good ones{Antestor beeing one of those}.

Maiden are gods.

Have you heard Emperor before? If not I, if could, would command you to go out and get Anthems to the welkin at dusk this very second, but since i can't I'll highly recommend it

Saw Maiden live nearly 2 years ago....went from being a fan to never buying anything of theirs again. Terrible concert. The anger from the crowd as they left was unbelievable. Mainly because of IM's complete disinterest in entertaining, the very poor set list and the fact that they needed a set change after almost every song...it's not a Kylie concert.

Wouldn't go back.

Did you all know that the band members of Extol are great friends of Dimmu. There was an article in the HM magazine a few months ago about Dimmu. Pretty good.

I woyuld doubt that they are "great friends", but friendly perhaps maybe, or perhaps one or two mebers of each band are friends w/one or two friends of the other, but all around GREAT FRIENDS, I don't know for sure...but somewho I doubt it, especially sinse Dimmu I heard cancelled a show because the christian abnd 'Frost Like ashes' were scheduled to play w/them.

However, Dimmu so seem rational and balanced satanists so I would'nt doubt that they might be friedns w/christians to "some" degree.

Yes, I like Dimmu also! I think people tend to be a little unfair in their criticism of them for trying to be a career band and "selling out". Spiked armbands ain't cheap people. Seriously though, why sign a record deal if you have no interest in selling albums? Making money in music is hard enough as it is and when you factor in that your playing black metal then your lucky to break even, much less make a profit. I'm all for musical integrity and all, but come on, nobody wants to ride around in a run down van traveling from city to city and eating from the value meal at Taco Bell the rest of their lives all in the name of "staying true" to the music scene. Besides, musical genre can remain stagnant and survive very long. I think, for better or worse, Dimmu are trying to expand what can be done with that style of music by not making another "For all Tid". And Yes Emperor is good to. If your into the Death Metal scene at all "Demilich" is pretty awesome also.

TRIFIXION: Amen, and lest we forget-it aint cheap to hire a huge orchestra to play for your record in order to make some progressive and creative music. I especially find it funny when satanic people whine about them selling out, ha! Is'nt satanism supposed to be about beeing creative and progressive. I like some old schooland raw black metal, but seriuosly when they pl;ay the same **** over and over again it just gets stagnant and uninteresting and uninspiring; Dimmu are true Satanic musical geniuses! I think people need to stop envying their creativity and skill level and get a life! Honestly! If you don't like them-son't listen to them, but don't go around insulting them and accusing them selling out,I don't go around accusing bands Like DarkThrone of beeing of a herd mentality or making ****** music for idiots whom don't know what talent is. But I will here and now for the first time, these bands have made some good songs{the bands like Darkthrone} but overall their music is what most people would call metal-JUST NOISE! I get annoyed by all the "trooists" whom join the cult herd mentality against bands like Dimmu and Cradle! Their own tastes for so-called "troo" bands is fine, but then they have be complete jerks and insult the creative bands like Dimmu or Cradle for what?For beeing creative,intelligent, and willing to risk the false accusations of former fans whom are too closed minded and uncreative to appreciate something unique, at least Dimmu and Cradle don't sound like every other band, they are truly unique individuals and have their own unique sound, they should be praised for this; and they put forth alotof their money to make really creative albums for the fans{and for themsleves} such as their last few; so "trooists" just shut up allready! Well, you do know that song "satan,my master" is actually a "Bathory" cover right?

Also, it's catharsis, Dimmu do not literally worhip satan or beleiv ein him. It's symbolic satanism. I myself subscribe to symbolic satanism.

We could easily say the same about christian metal, some cool songs, but then they have all tose songs worship the tyrannical jehovah of the Bible and tell everyone that they are evil and headed for etenral hell unless they accept jesus as god incarnate w/little to no proof; that's PREjudgemental-and that's not cool either!
But, I guess everyone is permitted a few mistakes!

They never sold out! Thye just got more cerative and decided to not sound the same on every album. I'm so tired of people whom don't understand talent and just have a herd mentality that all black metal should sound alike, Dimmu is one of the few bands that are unique and totally their own sound{or were-until other bands started emulating them, so they spent all their hard earned cash to pay off big orchestras to help them make a coupe really huge and unique albums; they are dedicated to their art and to satifiying both themselves and their fans w/great and creative,unique music. They are'nt different people because they are so creative, in fact quite the opposite. People whom don't like creative minds in metal should learn to shut up and go back to listening to all their bands that sound exactly the same}.
