I just got a sketchbook app for my laptop (touch screen with tablet mode) and I have a few touch-screen pens (write on paper and soft end for screens). I can draw okay on paper and have gotten back into painting recently and I want to start doing digital but everything turns out shaky and poor, how can I adjust? Or basically tips for digital drawing/painting?

Depending on the application, some have settings and options for something like "pen stabilization". I've got Clip Studio Paint (aka Manga Studio). There are settings on the brushes that will smooth out the lines you draw to some extent. I usually leave those as low as possible to force myself to improve instead of relying on the software.

I'm a beginner myself. Another thing is ergonomics. Make sure that your tablet is in a comfortable position similar to when you are drawing on paper.

Other than that, it's probably partly practicing and getting used to the new feel of things. Perhaps someone with much more experience can comment on this.
