Digital TV!

Well, a new era is on its way. TV goes totally digital in February 2009.

I have cable (through a converter box) right now, so I'm not in any real danger of losing my signal come 2/2009. HOWEVER, I love HDTV, and I'm planning on getting one anyway, just for the picture quality alone.

We have cable so I don't think it'll be a problem for us. Right now we have two cable boxes, and two TVs that just plug in the cable straight from the wall without going through a box. If those need boxes come 2009 to work, we'll get them.

We have satellite TV, but I will still get the converter, just in case.

I will probably buy a HD television in the next few months. My second set is mostly for DVD's and VHS tapes, so I may skip getting a converter for that one.

I don't know. Only one of my TVs will be able to handle it.

I have an old black and white TV from the seventies that I'm hoping I'll still be able to use.

The converter box is the best for me at this particular time.

I Live in a small village in a valley; surrounded by High Mountains; Satellite is the ONLY way to get TV Here;
Its all Digital, so im all ready !

In NZ it is either the converter box for Freeview, or a converter box and sattelite for Sky, u need a satelite for Freeview also.

Nothing. I already have a new tv and I have digital cable

But I would go with the new TV if I didn't. That way, there is no worrying about it later on if I moved to an area that didn't have what I needed right away.

Shopping for a new digital TV now... Amazon actually has some really great deals on them in their Electronics/Audio&TV department (better than my local Best Buy even)

I can finally get an updated player now too, that the format wars are over and Blu-Ray won
