  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I need a new digital camera (my Nikon CoolPix 880 just died)...and I need one that takes marvelous macros. I would like a zoom/macro lens on it, and hold at least 4 or 5 MB. Anyone have some suggestions which camera may be best? It would be nice if the camera were a lot faster than the old Nikon was. ;)

I've got my eye on the Nikon D70 for the upgrade from my Coolpix 5700. It's fast (VERY fast compared to anything near it's price range) and it's a true SLR so you'll be able to find good macro lenses for a great price!

As always, http://www.dpreview.com is a wonderful place to compare digital cameras by features and price etc... I keep recommending that place (I don't work there I promise!) but it's truly the best laid out to do any real comparison between current digital cameras. Other sites may have additional or more opinionated reviews, but the feature search at dpreview is unsurpassed.

I have a canon A70 and well it really like it but i should have waited to get an A80 when the new A75 and A85 came out...i could have got a better deal. My good friend just goit a Nikon Coolpix 5200 and its is a sweet little camera...but a lot less of a camera than what your after. i guess what im saying is Nikon is what you want for Macro. from my experience anyway.
