Different views on Christian Rock

Ok I've read this entire thread...and I remain unconvinced that Christian rock music is evil.

I don't know why certain people assume things are evil because they're loud or just not mainstream. Is it because people don't understand it? Don't like it? Or just like having something to complain about...

I like rock...especially alternative rock. I also like ska, jazz, metal...I like a lot of genres. I choose to listen to Christian artists where possible, because I believe lyrics do impact us (to varying degrees) and I'd like to avoid a heap of the bad stuff entering my mind.

Sometimes I feel like hearing a really strong Christian message, so I'll listen to Jennifer Knapp or Claire Hazzard, or DC Talk's Jesus Freak or...well I have a few in my collection. Michael W Smith's Secret Ambition usually brings a tear to my eye.

idk how much this helps. but if you watch mythbusters they did a study with music and plants and the heavy rock music group grew the most and the slower music died...so yea.

now as a Drummer in a rock band i take what your saying personally.

1 chronicles 6 :31-32

i want to highlight 2 chronicles 5:13 in saying "make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD" if you praise and worship God and jesus in a song what diffrence does it make it its fast/slow heavy/light.

it also said cymbals (witch if you dont know are included in a drum set) are also used. they also used lyres witch were stringed musical instruments. now flash forward and few thousand years you get drums and guitars .

and besides just because thier are band rock bands dosent meen all of them are.

i enjoy rock music! slow "traditional" music puts me to sleep. i would go as far as to say christian rock made me a christian it made me wanna stay and learn.
