Anhelnya is right a about the need to be careful with terminology. We can be and are referred to in many ways Greek Catholic is right, that's what is carved above our church's entrance doors, Byzantine Catholic is a more up to date term, still right and Eastern Catholic is a broader term but still correct and we may be technically "Roman" Catholic but I think you would be hard pressed to find one of us who is willing to call ourselves such.
I have never heard of Ukrainian Greek Catholic around here but that doesn't mean anything either I am sure Anhelya knows how to address her church correctly and she is right about us not knowing what to call ourselves, borders have changed so many times. I've herd Slovak, Check, Rusyn, Ukrainian to name a few. I ''ve settled on eastern European or Carpathian after the Carpathian mountain region.

I know that this is going to put the cat among the pigeons . :)

"Greek" Catholics are Roman Catholics .

I believe that Popes Pius XI and XII made this evident .

In his encyclical letter "Humani Generis" Pope Pius XII wrote : " The Mystical Body of Christ and the Roman Catholic Church are one and the same thing . "

In his encyclical letter "Divini Illius Magistri" Pope Pius XI wrote : " In the City of God , the Holy Roman Catholic Church , a good citizen and an upright man are one and the same thing . "

Popes have said that the Roman Rite has superiority over the eastern rites. All in all, the Popes have been better defenders of the eastern churches than many other elements of the Church, but even they have been imperfect.

The Eastern Catholics take offense at being called "Roman" and we should honor their usage.

His mitre is quite modest :)
Now here is our Patriarch - HB Sviatoslav

Take during his visit to Edmonton last summer

Is that not a gorgeous Mitre ? And what about his Hand [Blessing] Cross and Crozier ?

That's absolutely gorgeous.

This would be my Bishop (Apostolic Administrator), were I Ukrainian Catholic:
Most Reverend John Bura of the Eparchy of St. Josaphat in Parma

His mitre's kinda cool too.

Taken During Holy Thursday:

You should hear him switching from language to language :)

He's actually a very relaxed person with a wonderful smile . If you ever get a chance to be at a Liturgy served by him - go - it's a great experience
