  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't know. I don't believe that Jesus commanded Christians to judge one sin more than another. People just simply do that. I thought that Christians believe that all sins are equal.

I wonder how a wife feels about adultery. What is worse? The fact that her husband slept with another? Broke his pledge to her? Lied to cover up for it? Spent the housekeeping (kind of steeling from his family) to treat his fancey woman? If they were religious went against their convictions and betrayed God? What about the fancey womans husband who the adulterous husband coveted? He will share the pain too.

One sin leads to another and behind it all is a lack of others and of God. When it comes to heart and motive only God can see all the corruptness that is going on. In the light of God's standards we will see that there is no such thing as a little sin- it is progressive and ultimately destructive.

A sin is like a contradiction in an axiomatic system, it makes the whole theory inconsistent. If satan can get a foothold in your mind he can get a stronghold.

1 Corinthians 5
6Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough? 7Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast--as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 8Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.

How we view sin and how God views it often differs. The church is pretty twitchy about sexual sins, but is more accommodating on others. This just reflects social and cultural factors.

Allowing God's prespectives into our lives is important, but not always easy. Hence Jesus warened about self righteousness and judging others whil eignring our own planks.

Dear Totallylost, all sins cause pain and distrust and heartache and confusion. The sin may start off small, but end by doing great damage to many people. And sin has a habit of changing the sinner, very subtly at first, and then noticeably.Friends will shun you and family gets hurt. When God gave us the Commandments, they were for our own well-being.Nobody loves a sinner, whether a liar,or an adulterer. Most sins start small and soon sin will take over.Sincere greetings from Emmy,a sister in Christ.
