How do you die to yourself and follow Jesus. How to you deny yourself?

I think you can only do it through the power of the Holy Spirit. You die to self by not doing the things your flesh tells you to do if it's in violation of what God wants you to do. Simple concept; hard to implement.

I think someone who seeks God to live, for survival sake, will lose their life for Christ sake and find it again in him.

Dying to self happens when the old man is crucified with Christ, and the new man is put on. It's done by God's lead and the power of Christ and not by ourselves.

It's like God granting repentance to the broken and contrite in spirit. No man man can break his own spirit, neither can a man die to self of his own doing.

It begins with our desire to live, which is a foreign concept to the wicked who prosper in the world.

By denying yourself. For example, if you need only one helping of some food to satisfy your hunger, then you politely refuse the second and third helpings.

That's a great question. It means to fully trust God for your salvation. You no longer seek your own righteousness, you have Christs' righteousness. He has done it all for us.

It is a very hard concept to understand. As men, we naturally seek righteousness with man and God. In Christ we have died, it is no longer us that lives, but Christ living in us.

We humble ourselves before the Lord. Understanding that our own righteousness is as filthy rags. Coming to Him broken and poor, fully trusting in His mercy. Jesus has done all for us, His righteousness is imputed onto us. We enter His rest.

How do you die to yourself and follow Jesus.

Well, that isn't actually a biblical thing although I guess the basic concept is similar to leaving your old self behind and being reborn. I personally find "dying to self" to be poor wording, wording scripture doesn't use.

We should be dead to sin, the sins we favored perhaps being Christians but are to do our best to avoid once one is a Christian showing a different type of person morally than we were before conversion. If you were a thief, you stop stealing. A drug addict, stop using drugs...etc etc.
