Didyagetya Census yet?

My 2021 Australian Census form was dropped off this morning. It covers the night of Tuesday 10 August.

Since my life is absolutely predictable I've already completed the form. There's a choice between completing a paper version and mailing it, or doing it online.

I did the online version. The form comes with a temporary password giving you access to the online form. While it's longish - 64 questions for each occupant - it's easy to complete. It probably took me 10 minutes but I only have one 'occupant' - me.

Last census (2016) was the first for doing the Census online and the inevitable happened - the Census site collapsed under the strain. I'm guessing that's been fixed this year but I'd be inclined to do it early if you can - just in case.

I'm really curious to see how many Christians are left in Australia in 2021 since the figures have been crashing at every Census. Last census (2016) we had around 50% of the pop identifying as Christian and 30%+ as No Religion. Round here most of the churches have been converted to Coffee Shops, Antique stores or novel housing.

Not surprising this is happening to Christianity due to rampant hypocrisy in the religion.

They call themeselves Christians, they even serve in the church but live in contradiction to the things they read in their Bibles. Some just couldn't process the ridiculousness of it and leave. The concept of salvation brought by people who are double-minded in their beliefs, brings only doubt and more questions than answers.

Mine hasn't arrived yet. Maybe they should fill in all the questions as per the last census and you could simply tick 'Yes to all the above'. Nothing has changed since last time for me. Although I may change my religion from Jedi Knight to Cultural Marxist (second class).

Watch out for Q 7 - "Is the person male, female or non-binary sex" I suspect it's a trap inserted by Scottie's mob.

If you're of non-binary sex then, by definition you are not, by definition, more than one - you are one sex (although you could be three or more). If you are one sex you are by definition non-binary. It's a circular question trick. One wrong answer and you'll find a bunch of Scottie's people on the doorstep inquiring after your health.

I finally worked out that the right answer to Q 7 was "None of the above".

That sounds just like the sort of thing William of Ockham would have said! One definition of Occam's Razor is “Entities are not to be multiplied beyond necessity.”

Occam's Barber has given a definition of Christianity that has only one entity "that there aren't any True Christians left apart from the ones who say there aren't any True Christians left."

That's what I call economy of expression!

We received the online guide in the mail. Just sitting around waiting now for the thrill of the Olympics to finish, and the thrill of the census to start two days later, while half of the Olympians are overseas. Does that mean Australia won't have any Olympic sportsmen at home on Census Day? What will we do in four years time then? I hope the ABS can tell me, as I'm starting to worry!

At 8pm on Tuesday 10th August I'll probably be playing Masters Hockey (definitely NOT to Olympic standard), if we're not still in lockdown, so should we say there's only one person in the house ie. my wife?
