Didja ever wonder...

...why the Bible says, "Thou shalt not covet" and then people (mostly preachers) say, "We covet your prayers"? I mean, why choose THAT particular expression?

...why some people use a lot of "Thys", "Thous" and "Thus's" when they pray?

i think the thee's and thou's are either used to
be more reverent or to sound more reverent.
it is the state of the heart will be judged by
GOD.

to wish for greatly or with envy.
when you covet a prayer you are with them on it !
maybe we could just say; that!!!

I know what people mean when they say that...I was just being, um, cantankerous (But really - where else do we hear the word covet except in a negative connotation and yet people choose that to say they need prayer - I guess it's just kind of a paradox in a way - sort of) didst thou see my point? No? OK...

There are just some things that grate on me...I try to stifle the "grating". I do better at times than others.
