Did you ever watch a young child/toddler bounce up and down while a 5-string banjo was being picked?
Did you ever see the happy smile on children's face's when they hear fiddle and guitar?
Do you ever see the joy in a young child's face, when they are handed a mandolin (an instrument their size), and see them try to *pick along*?
If you haven't, then you are into "big hair", and not the roots that the music came from.
You cannot show me a kid that is not enthralled by Bluegrass. It stirs the soul, it get's the feet tapping, and it make's the heart happy. Big hair is kinda like beer --- drink enough of it, and you learn to like it. An aquired taste, not something that is natural.
Front porches, and bluegrass music are what keep families together. Big hair, and high ticket venues will only separate, and divide.
Praise the big hair all you want --- but IMHO that is the divisive factor in today's society, vs. the bluegrass, on the front porch, that brings families together.
