  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

did you ever feel like you were never going to go into labor? I know im still roughly 5 weeks away..but i already feel as if each day is really a week. im so anxious to see my little one and hold her in my arms for the first time, but i feel like my time is never going to get here!:sigh: i feel so close, yet so far away..what do you do while you wait to make the time seem to go by faster?

I feel exactly the same! I'm not quite as far along as you (you're two weeks, four days farther along) but I'm going bonkers. It doesn't help that by this point, the hormones have loosened the ligaments to the point where walking is a challenge. Are you having braxton hicks contractions?

What I'm doing to while away the time, besides chasing a toddler, is dreaming up ways to start labor when I get to term (or two weeks before the due date). I'm planning a loooong downhill/uphill walk the day I hit 38 weeks. :)

I felt the exact same way when I was pregnant with my first. I was also 17 at the time!! The only thing you can do is wait.. and try to get things ready for the baby. Try focusing more on how to cope during labor and delivery and what to expect.

Just don't do what I did. My sons due date was June 15th 2000.. and I rushed him earlier (which I shouldn't of done) and he was born May 27th by c-section. I actually induced my own labor cause I couldn't wait any longer and my doctor told me the baby already felt as though he was 8 pounds already so I thought.. "why not?" He was very healthy and I was very blessed.. but just remember how you felt when you were in the first trimester and how anxious you probably were!! Now you only have 5 little weeks to go until you bring a life into this world..

It is hard to wait at the end.... But really you should be enjoying your last days of "freedom." Go to movies and out with your friends a lot, and extra dates with your fiance. None of these things are impossible later, but you have to have a babysitter, you're more tired and less inspired.... so have some fun..... :D

My daughter is 5 months old and I remember the feeling you're describing quite well. My advice would be to enjoy the weeks you have left! Being a mother is the most wonderful thing you'll ever do, and there's a lot to love and enjoy about it--but with it also comes some changes. So right now, relish your freedom to sleep in, take a long bath, go out and have fun! Your precious one will be here before you know it. And congratulations...motherhood is awesome! :)

The week before my oldest was born I read chidlrens novels- all of the Chronicles of Narnia- The Borrowers, a bunch of books by the lady who wrote Anne of Green Gables. It was good enough to keep my mind occupied- but not so difficult as to wear out my tired prego brain.

Try to focus on the blessing that this time is-- the time where you and your daughter share one body, where she resides within you is drawing to an end. Try to cherish every moment, even the tired achey ones-- it is such a blessed, blessed time...I know that's easier said than done, but that is what my pregnancies have taught me.

If I were you, I would be good to myself- go get your toenails done, get a haircut...go out on lots of dates with Ben. It will be a while before you will do those things after the baby-- and they will never be as easy to do ever again...it will always at least entail finding someone to watch the baby!!

Just remember- your labor will come-- it is a certainty!
