  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is an interesting topic. All throughout Solomon's years, he served God and was an awesome ruler until he started marrying pagan women and worshipping their gods. Now, in the old testament, it wasnt once saved always saved like it is with us in the New Testament. If you disobeyed one of the commandments, it was punishable by death. Solomon obviously disobeyed the commandment "Thou shall have no other gods before me." When Solomon started building pagan temples for his wives gods, he obviously disobeyed this commandment. So my question is, do you think he went to paradise or to hell? The only reason that God didnt destroy him then was because of his father Davids sake. He did however promise that he would divide his kingdom when his son reigned in his stead. I believe that Solomon went to hell, but I want to see what you guys think about it.

Greetings Future Preacher,

I believe that Solomon went to hell, but I want to see what you guys think about it.

I want and expect to meet Solomon "in Glory". If you understand Ecclesiastes, he never lost sight of God in all his ill-doings. He tried everything and over-indulged in everything and had the wealth to do it, but he concluded:

Eccl 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

I suspect that he summed this up in his last days.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie
