  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did NASA really go to the moon?

Did NASA really go to the moon? Or was all that really staged in a hollywood studio? They say that the space race was on and they had to one up the USSR? I also wonder because no one has ever gone back. No one has even been able to see the lunar lander through a telescope or some evidence that they were actually there?

The reason I'm saying this is because there's a guy who zoomed in a rock on the moon and took a picture of it. The rock is the size of a guys head. The reason that rock got international publicity is because it looks like the terminator robots head. So he claims it's an alien head. (ridiculous) But the
point being, where's the lunar lander?

Why was Saturn 5 chopped up?

Why does the landing craft at the washington DC air and space museum look so phony? Looks like something someone constructed in a garage out of scrap parts. Meanwhile any capsules, space stations, or obitors on display all look legit because they did go up into space, just not to the moon.

Why didn't russia or any other country ever go to the moon? Since the US shown a lot about how they claim they went, and what they used to get there.

I honestly don't think they went to the moon. I think it was all staged. What do you think?

I'm pretty sure Neil and Buzz required the Lunar Module to return to the Command Module. I'm not sure but I think at that point the LM was jettisoned to space left to orbit the moon, but it was never left on the surface.

Yes we went to the moon.

Have several buddies that put them there.

Its true and much of the tech was cobbled together out of nothing. No one ever made stuff like that before so they just tested until they ran out of time and hoped for the best. It was very crude.

You're only saying that because you're in on the conspiracy. The moon shots were faked so that rocket scientists, like our friend new_wine and his buddies, could bilk the taxpayers. Enjoying your palatial estate there, new_wine?

This was on a recent "Mythbusters" show and was very interesting. They showed that the movement of the astronauts in almost zero gravity was not able to be duplicated, until they boarded that plane that goes into a steep decent and brings about the same situation. They donned full astronaut gear and tried to dulicate and film the exact type of steps the astronauts took. They were able to duplicate it perfectly.

Then as a clincher, they wwnt to the world;s largeest laser and aimed it at the lunar rover. If it was really there, a laser beam would be reflected back. It bounced back perfectly. Impossible unless there was actually a rover there to reflect the beam. I would not be surprised that the show could be pulled up on the mythbusters website.

Just sharing what they said.

Of course we went to the moon. We're simply not that good at keeping secrets, and a conspiracy that size would have required *thousands* of people to keep their mouths shut their entire lives. Anyone with even an inkling of feel for human nature knows this is preposterous.

Occam's Razor shreds this one to pieces.

QFE! I agree 100% with the above. There's no way to keep something that big secret for so long.

I once heard it said they faked the first moon landing, but after finally making it there, what they found scared the crap out of them, and now nobody goes there, maybe thats where the nephilim live now. A plain fact in the matter is if we did make it there, why aren't there moon cruises, with todays technology they should be able to fly the space shuttle to the space station and then fly the space station to orbit the moon

While our capacity for technological miniaturization has grown by a staggering amount since the time of the moon landing, our facility with brute force technology has not: for example look at the advances made in car engines since that time. They run much more smoothly, they get somewhat better gas mileage, and they need less maintenance, but they have not become orders of magnitude more powerful in the way that our computers have. In fact, it's these computers that allow modern engines most of the improvements they do possess.

This means that moving any amount of matter as far as the Moon, and then bringing it back, is still prohibitively expensive. Only with the massive To-Hell-With-Russia budget of the Cold War did we ever manage it in the first place.

When I was in college I took a class where we went into conspiracy theories and the people that promote them. They all have certain common characteristics. The theories themselves lack any supporting evidence, they make profound assumptions and exaggerations, they are often contradictory, and often require the people involved to be in the thousands and/or have super human abilities to pull them off. The people that promote or believe in conspiracy theories are often arrogent, confrontational, repetitive to an extreme, paranoid, have an exaggerated sense of self importance, and are generally on the low end of average I.Q.

For the "Apollo program was all faked" one, that would require many foreign governments to be involved in the conspiracy like the British, French, German, Canadian, Italian, and even the Soviet Union. Astronauts from Apollo 11 - 12, and 14 - 17 brought back hundreds of pounds of rocks from the moon and distributed them around to many different scientific communities. All of them reached the conclusion that those rocks were not of the Earth. They were chemically different from any rocks found here.

Just about every single conspiracy theory has been disproven except for one, and it didn't involve the U.S. government. It was Soviet in origin. The chances that Stalin died of a stroke, as the official Soviet government statement said, is highly unlikely. It's highly likely that he was murdered by the only man he came close to trusting. That's the one and only conspiracy theory that holds water.

well I guess that settles that! Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman!...who did you say put this course together? ha ha ha It sounds like some sort brainwashing technic, So people with low IQ,s believe in conspiracy theorys huh! where did they show you the statistics of that flawed fact, look into the 911 for truth conspiracy, some of the brightest people in science, mathmatics, architecture, and engineering and the list goes on, not your average crack smokin, paranoid, trailer trash is it. but you just keep believing what they tell you, you will actually be happier living in your make believe world than whats really going on in the real world

Yes they went to the Moon. Plenty of people involved in the space race lived in my state, and there's an overwhelming amount of evidence here. People who deny it also deny that the Earth is spherical, deny that the World Wars happened, and think that the Maya actually calculated the date of the "rapture."

That class sounds awesome, was it a psychology course? It's interesting, some of the traits amongst conspiracy theorists that you noted are traits I've noticed myself. I've had the aggravation of observing one in my family for quite some time now, they, and many of their "resources" exhibit classic elements of paranoid personality disorder.

I believe they went to the moon without a doubt. Man is capable of doing almost anything within the boundaries of this physical world, all is required is faith in achieving their objective (and a hell of a lot of money). Look at medical science for instance they have made amazing inroads since the moon landings because they keep working at research knowing they would eventually reach their goal. Same with computer science. Faith is the main ingredient for success!

The Luna landings are an amazing achievement and you have to commend NASA for their tenacity.
