  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did my part to save the world.

My hearty congratulations on a job well done! And I will rejoice with you when you receive your first (lower) heating bill.
Now for your next project, can I make a suggestion?
Add an extra layer of sheet rock to the inside walls of your house.
It not only increases the insulation properties of the home, but it also increases the soundproofing abilities, as well.
I have that on my house, and the resulting quiet is nice indeed.
It's also something that can be done as a long time project, room by room.

Actually my house is owned by my boss. If I were to do anything in this regard I would add two inches of foam insulation to the outside and replace the old aluminum siding (at his cost of course). I do pay the heat bill so it would definitely be to my benefit.

What was the temperature outdoors when you were doing it?

I did it late last fall so it was cool working under the roof. It would have been too hot up there to do it during the summer.
