You've asked some good questions!PleaseHelpMe said:Yeah, this is probably complete nonsense, but isn't it possible?
Jesus suffered for our sins, right? And ALL the sins of the WORLD were placed on HIM when he suffered on the cross. Isn't that why God forsook him? Becuase at that time he WAS sin? (Where he yells "Father, father, why hast thou forsaken me?)
Well, three days later, he rose from the dead? But was he in hell during those three days? Then, when he came back to life, he had escaped hell, defeating the devil and "Killing death forever"? I dunno, just some random thoughts.

Dear sir/madam,PleaseHelpMe said:Forgive my limited Bible knowledge, but wasn't Sheol the place where the dead before Christ went, and then Christ decended there before his coming to earth to take the righteous? And what of what the Bible clearly states as a Lake of Fire?
Well, I just talked to my pastor about this question, and if you think about what is written in the Bible you can easily come up with an answer. What did Christ say to the thief on the cross that believed? "Today you will be with me in heaven."Well, three days later, he rose from the dead? But was he in hell during those three days? my camp counsuler said because he had all our sins he went to hell and "dropped them off". then on the thrid day over came death and overcame hell. this is like use. if we have jesus in our hearts then we can over come hell to. (or something like that.)PleaseHelpMe said:Jesus suffered for our sins, right? And ALL the sins of the WORLD were placed on HIM when he suffered on the cross. Isn't that why God forsook him? Dear 'Please help me',PleaseHelpMe said:If there is no "fiery hell", then why is it in the scriptures in the book of Revelation? "The lake which burneth of fire and brimstone" or something. Maybe your just in that place, but not consciense? *confuzzled*
He sits at the right hand of God and I think that is in heaven....PleaseHelpMe said:Yeah, this is probably complete nonsense, but isn't it possible?

So did Jesus go to hell to suffer for our sins or was he there preaching an eternal life to the souls that did not witness His teachings on Earth? I am hearing sides say different things... I'm confused about where the souls before Jesus' coming went....butxifxnot said:Third Day; Album: Offering II Song: Creed "I believe that He who suffered was crucified buried and dead. 1 It was before Passover, and Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and to return to the Father. He had always loved his followers in this world, and he loved them to the very end. 2 Even before the evening meal started, the devil had made Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, decide to betray Jesus. 3 Jesus knew that he had come from God and would go back to God. He also knew that the Father had given him complete power. - John 13.1-3
Yes, except that I'd prefer to say he 'descended' into hell. He experienced hell. Hell is a real place, but first and foremost it's separation from God. Jesus endured separation from God - that's why he cried out, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"Mayerpod said:So did Jesus go to hell to suffer for our sins
Jesus went to hadyes( hadyes is where you go when you die, to wait for jugment day) in thoose three days he preached to the people that had drowned in the big flood. Also jesus defeated the devil on the cross, god is in charge of heven and hell, the devil is on earth and heaven( heaven is not a place where just good people go)PleaseHelpMe said:Yeah, this is probably complete nonsense, but isn't it possible?
