Genesis 1
The Account of Creation

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.[a] 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

3 Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Genesis 1:26

26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings[a] in our image, to be like us.

John 1
Prologue: Christ, the Eternal Word

1 In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
2 He existed in the beginning with God.
3 God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.
4 The Word gave life to everything that was created,[a]
and his life brought light to everyone.
5 The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Hebrews 1:3
Amplified Bible

3 The Son is the radiance and only expression of the glory of [our awesome] God [reflecting God’s [a]Shekinah glory, the Light-being, the brilliant light of the divine], and the exact representation and perfect imprint of His [Father’s] essence, and upholding and maintaining and propelling all things [the entire physical and spiritual universe] by His powerful word [carrying the universe along to its predetermined goal]. When He [Himself and no other] had [by offering Himself on the cross as a sacrifice for sin] accomplished purification from sins and established our freedom from guilt, He sat down [revealing His completed work] at the right hand of the Majesty on high [revealing His Divine authority],

Evolution isn’t a thing, it’s a process. Just like pregnancy, travel or fermentation. It’s a sequence of events. So no, by any mean, Jesus didn’t create evolution.
At best he could have started it. But since he was a human who allegedly roamed the earth 2000 years ago, evolution was already going on for a while. A long while.
So, by any meaning of the word, Jesus didn’t start it.

Yes I think the 'Word' represents the life force that exists. That something that exists beyond the material world. The same force we call consciousness, Mind, the vital force and Aristotle's 'the Good'. Gods invisible creative force that is seen in His creation.

The 'light' is a strange concept. Its not light as in day and night but some phenomena that transcends this world. Light is also the source of life on this planet. Considering that everything we see is but reflections of light maybe there is a connection. Maybe the true source of light is not what we think it is but is the source of all things.

After all if there was darkness (void) before all things then light is what makes the darkness no more and brings about the beginning of something. Yet light it not a thing but represents life.

And what makes you so sure?
Evidence. Observation. Reality. That Evolution had been happening on this planet ~4 billion years before the Bible was written. That people who wrote the Bible had little to no understanding about the natural world and were steeped in superstition and religion and magical thinking.

If you watch the video and read the attached scriptures, the bible seems to indicate (particularly Hebrews 1:3 at the last of the post) Jesus created (and maintains) the universe by the word of his power. Jesus is the Son of God and is God. He wasn't "just a man" that was on earth 2000 years ago. People often argue creationism vs. evolution, but why couldn't God have created both? He is God, after all.

upholding and maintaining and propelling all things [the entire physical and spiritual universe] by His powerful word [carrying the universe along to its predetermined goal].

As the video states, it's not reason but revelation that tells us the origin of the universe.

Jesus said am am the 'life'. Life is a force of some sort that is not in inanimate objects. I like his other quotes like

John 8:12 “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

What is the 'light of life'. Is this behind the evolution of life.

Right, that's that magical thinking I was talking about. No one learns anything about reality through revelation.

And why should I take this video at face value? What unique knowledge does the unseen speaker possess that makes him an authority? Has he published his findings or submitted any of it for peer review?

Jesus Christ of Nazareth is God in the flesh. All things were created by Him and through Him. Evolution is a theory introduced by a mere man. I see no connection.
Blessings.

Excellent video!

Thanks for sharing it!
What do you think of when you think of Jesus as "the word"? I think of God's voice or his intention.

There's also this scripture:

John 1:18

18 No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God,[a] is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

Really? So what do you make of the scriptures then?

upholding and maintaining and propelling all things [the entire physical and spiritual universe] by His powerful word [carrying the universe along to its predetermined goal].

He is God. Maybe we put him in a box because we can't fathom the unfathomable.
