texted this girl i like this morning to wish me luck on a car im looking at, then she said good luck

this afternoon i texted her thanks, and asked her to hang out, but she said she is subsitute teaching today.

then i said "cool, maybe i can dress up as a kid and attend your class so we can hang out, i could pass for 4 right?"

and no response. what did i say wrong? i just dont get it i always say something stupid and dont understand and girls dont want me

I don't see anything wrong with it, it's obvious you were just kidding around. Maybe she's busy and can't reply, I wouldn't worry about it, she will probably respond when she can.

Depends on how long you've known her. If you don't know each other very well, what you texted is a little creepy.

Doesn't sound like a big deal to me. If she's teaching, she's probably very busy.

Sending texts is a high risk way to get to know a girl. A phone beeping can be an annoyance, and you don't even know it because you aren't there with her. She could misinterpret what you say.

Still, I don't think it's a big deal.

Think about it: She's in a classroom dealing with 30 children, probably single handedly. If you had to manage a classroom full of 30 children, do you think you would have time to text people? I wouldn't. I deal with kids sometimes at my work for educational tours and activities. I usually only have them for an hour or so, but they require CONSTANT attention. You don't get a break. I'm lucky if I have the time to even look at what time it is on my phone!

I'll be honest the joke isn't very funny and pretty weird.

You should have been more like "ok have fun" or just something like that.

No offense, but it really isn't that funny or witty? I would have said something more centered on her and the teaching. Being charismatic is very attractive. Also, don't forget to capitalize your I's.

Plus, as others have said -- teaching or substitute teaching is quite a lot of work. You're basically dealing with 20+ kids at once and have to carefully follow a substitute teaching plan. It's not that she doesn't want to hang out. She's busy and committed to her work.
