You do realize that to claim to know exactly what the story means, that it comes from God, and that it actually did happen is claiming to be infallible in matters of Bible interpretation,
Hmm. Ok , I'm not sure what your u mean by that, but ths.came to mind. The good seed is the preservation of Noah. Ham's sin and Noah cursing Canaan is Satan planting tares?Does this reconcile with Matthew 13:36-39 which is the explanation, ie NO hyperbole or metaphor!
It really is!This bad telling of the story is hilarious!
I've seen ideas proposed that the Nephilim etc had modified and corrupted humans and animals so it all had to be purged.
Given that a few generations later you have Babylon, Babel and Anakim or looks like there's plenty of corruption still around.
Also given that Noah etc are humans, they still had Original Sin, so the whole thing doesn't even conceptually work as a removal of sin.
Some people like to mix a little science fiction with their Bible. I haven't quite figured out the appeal of that.
And that, I'd argue, is the real point of the flood story. Destroying the world and getting rid of all the "bad people" doesn't fix anything. The world after the flood was no better than the world before the flood. People after the flood were no better than people before.
As soon as the flood waters were gone, the ark was on dry land, and Noah worships God, we have Noah drunk and naked and cursing his grandson. The flood solved nothing.

The Flood wasn't supposed to make sinners righteous.People after the flood were no better than people before.
The Flood wasn't supposed to make sinners righteous.
The Flood was to sanitize the earth; or we wouldn't be here today discussing it.
The Flood wasn't supposed to make sinners righteous.
The Flood was to sanitize the earth; or we wouldn't be here today discussing it.
We're here discussing it, aren't we?Then it failed. The earth isn't a particularly sanitized place, now is it?

Genesis 6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.Without making something up, present an argument that if there hadn't been a flood that we wouldn't be here discussing it.
