No, you are definitely not an atheist, you are a 'tweeny'.Oh consol, you can do better than that.
On second thought, maybe you can't.
Calling them "radicals" is a sore spot with me.
A "radical Muslim," to me, is a Muslim man walking behind a Muslim woman.
Planting flowers, helping little old ladies across the street, and singing, "Give Peace A Chance."
It's not the radical Muslims we have to worry about.
It's the fundamental Muslims we have to worry about.
But you're comparing apples to oranges here. You call them what you like.
I call them radicals, because I consider being willing to harm other people, as radical behavior.
One can be a fundamentalist and keep to themselves, but radicals lack empathy and they have no issue harming others.
But you're comparing apples to oranges here.
You're judging them as "radical," based on your own passivity.
Was Shoko Asahara a "radical"?
No.
He wanted to get back to worshiping Shiva, the god of destruction, in its purest form (Aum Shinrikyo).
To him, worshipping a god of destruction, but sitting around doing needlework, was anathama.
Ten four!Chill, we are just using the terms a bit differently.
When it comes to religion, I would call someone a radical, who is willing to use their beliefs to justify harming someone, who disagrees with them.
It]'s not just you my friend..The others know who my post was directed to..Sorry!![]()
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. How believing something for which there is no evidence becomes a good thing for the religious tells people exactly where the religious are coming from, for them feelings count for everything, if it makes them feel good then it must be true.
Faith is gullibility.Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.
That's exactly what a con man says when the mark asks him to explain what he means, he tells them, Faith is not the sort of thing you can "understand", it seems that even 'Faith' is something you must take on 'Faith'.Faith is not the sort of thing you can "understand".
A chair is a physical thing and can be seen as to it's ability to take the weight of a person, before you sit on a chair all kinds of different things are taken into consideration, 'faith' is literally nothing and requires the abandonment of everything you know and have experienced in your life, only when it comes to your religion is faith brought into play, I am asking why that is?Faith is not the sort of thing you can "understand". It's like this -- Take a chair. You can build a chair. Research a chair. Examine a chair. Google a chair. Flip it over and paint a chair. However until you sit your butt down on that chair and put your weight in that chair, you will not have faith it will hold you. Some don't need to research and do all that other crap we just jump in that chair, wholeheartedly and gladly! Call us gullible, call us uneducated, call us idiots if you want to, we won't care, because we "know" the chair holds us and we "know" God holds us too. Try Him. He will hold you.
Faith is gullibility.

The worst thing about it is you won't think about what 'faith' is you will just get angry with me for questioning it.
Religions survive because people are never willing to admit that they have been conned, they just come to their senses and slowly and quietly stop believing, what they should be doing is standing up and shouting that they have been conned and now they are finally realising it.
You keep telling yourself that and you will die with a smile on your face, it won't matter that you have believed a lie all of your life because death and oblivion comes to us all and wipes the slate clean, you will go to the same oblivion you left when you were born.False, since IF you have the proper interpretation of Genesis, you will see that it is true scientifically, historically and Literally. You have no faith because you haven't exercised it. Faith is the evidence of things not seen. We CANNOT see the AGREEMENT of Scripture, Science and History, physically, with our eyes, but we can certainly examine it, test it, and confirm it's teaching which could ONLY have come from God, Himself, thousands of years ago. Amen?

No, sometimes chairs don't take the weight and you flop to the floor. Everyone has "faith" in something. It's funny you say I have to abandon everything, I do not have to abandon anything. Faith confirms to me every day there is a God and a Creator, and confirms I am on the right track. It is totally opposite of what you suggest.A chair is a physical thing and can be seen as to it's ability to take the weight of a person, before you sit on a chair all kinds of different things are taken into consideration, 'faith' is literally nothing and requires the abandonment of everything you know and have experienced in your life, only when it comes to your religion is faith brought into play, I am asking why that is?
Something like what? I have 'faith' in nothing without evidence, neither do you, your religion is the only thing you have un-evidenced faith in, everything else you have so called 'faith' in is backed by evidence.Everyone has "faith" in something.
What if you are wrong about Islam or anyone of the hundreds of others? after all you have more chances of being wrong than you do of being right, ask yourself, was I given the right religion? do others think their religion is the right one? who knows?IF I am wrong, no problem....BUT....IF you are wrong and wake up to judgment, as God tells us, what will you say to the people you have led down the wrong path? There are special punishments for those who have offended little children, who believed in Jesus, before they were led astray by godless people. Be careful when you are around little children. Amen?

Because it makes a pretty good tool to control large amounts of people.
I disagree. I believe religion was created as a form of government with the authority being placed well outside of human reach to prevent dissent.I don’t think that is true, unless people don’t read the whole Bible, for example, because the early disciples of Jesus were persecuted. And that happens also in modern times. Of course we should expect disciples of Jesus (“Christians”) to act well, love others, but I don’t think you can enslave people with teachings that make people free, especially free of fear that is the most common thing that is used to control and rule people.
"If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
John 8:31-32
