Did anyone catch all the Firefly series?

I love this show, and I also have the DVDs of the series and the movie. A friend made me watch them, and I'm so glad that she did. Even though I'm a fan of Buffy and Angel, not even the fact that it was a Joss Whedon show was enough to make me watch it when it was on TV. I'm not really a sci-fi fan, I generally prefer fantasy, and I don't like westerns at all, so when the show was described as a sci-fi western it did not appeal to me in the least.

When Serenity came out, I watched it just to shut my friend up, then I liked it so much that I wanted to watch the series. Now it's one of my favourite shows.

My one complaint about the movie is that it didn't seem like a lot of the character development of Mal, and the "bonding" of sorts between Mal, River, and Simon, had happened. Granted, Mal is never going to be a fluffy bunny rabbit; but he had at least become less hard emotionally during the series, and seemed to have developed a semi-affection for River (eg. "Objects in Space"), and a respect of sorts for Simon. But in "Serenity", to me it feels like none of that happened, and River and Simon go back to being pesky cargo and nothing more.

Other than that, though, I loved the movie and the series, especially Wash *sob*
