I've been writing short devotionals for over a year now for church. I've amassed about 70 so far (one a week). I am good at writing short pieces, such as devotional and poems, nothing usually more than a page long. I would love to write Sunday School literature, tracts, or something along those lines. (Eventually I want to publish my devotionals in a book so I can hand them out).
What would be some advice for me in wanting to write literature? I'm in process of writing a fiction book but that's not my forte, and I'm not good at character development, neither do I think my gift is there.
My forte is using the Bible to help others (and myself), gain encouragement, discernment, and ultimately to build upon the faith. I do not have a degree in anything so I'm not what you would say "qualified" as some devotional writers are, but I've been told by many many people I should go into writing. My writing style is personal and poignant. Just seeking advice on what I can use this "gift" for. I'm soaking it in prayer!
Blessings!
P.S If need be I can post a short devotional here to let the style of my writing come out, just let me know!
