  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hmm...maybe if you get your leg and back thing straightened out you should talk to your doc about an exercise program. I just got done using my Walk the Walk program. It's in-home walking. I just did a mile. And the island was off of a website that has audio meditation sessions.

That and hormones I think. ~LOL~ I had a rough night last night with my stupid cigarette cravings but, it's gotten a little better this afternoon. I'm sitting here crocheting an afghan for myself. Getting these things started is always a little awkward but, it keeps my hands busy. Now if I could just suck my lollie at the same time I'd be in business. ~Grins~

Oh heavens no! I tried that last time Nichol. I wouldn't do that again if someone paid me. I have the patch on but, it's not perfect. It's not as severe but, I still have to work through it. I was so close to going and buying some this morning but, apparently the hand of God reached down from the heavens and smacked me in the head. ~Heh~

Oh okay..i quit eight years ago and i tapered of using a pin ..poking holes in the filter and smoking less and less cigs everyday..and i would put more time in between each one too..like i started at an hour in between each one then two and so on putting more holes and taking away ciggarettes everyday..it wasnt that bad for me..i have to admit but it worked and as soon as i could smell them i deffinitely never wanted another one..my husband quit cold turkey and he was a total bear but he sure enough did it..i had smoked for fifteen years probably..never do it again...youll be glad when your done..

It's just getting through the early stages of this that's the hard part. But, something from my devotional this morning really got me to thinking. God can't fix this if I don't let it go. I have to die to self in order to lose this thing. Giving up control of something that has controlled me for so long isn't easy.

~Watches the evening news~ One of the stories has to do with everyone's day after shopping sprees. I can not believe that people get into fist fights in shopping malls and stores over TOYS. That is just pathetic. Is this what life has come to? Popping someone in the face for a toy? Do the stores bring this on by waiting til the last minute to start selling certain products? And then only having a few available? I'm sorry but, I just think fighting over toys is absolutely ridiculous. Nothing is worth that much that it's worth physical violence. You don't see these people busting each other in the chops over getting their hands on a bible. Where are our priorities? Are the things of this world that important now that nothing else matters? Like intelligent thought? These people were fighting over flat panel tv's. What happened to common sense? ~Blinks~

WOW....I've only done a "black friday" shopping spree once ever... it was fun yet nerve racking at the same time...but I did a "circuit" lol...I hit 4 stores within an hour of openings (at 2 time differences) and had a list..I went in and got out.
Then I went home and like you..turned on the news...I was saddened by what I saw.. that was 2 years ago... last year at this exact time I had bladder surgery and couldnt participate in much... and this year this surgery... sheesh I pray if I need one next year I do it during the summer when I'm stuck indoors anywayLOL

but yeah...I haven't turned on the tv..but we went to super wal mart to grocery shop today AFTER 2pm... so it wasn't bad at all.
And I even got a book and 2 movies on sale and Shawn got a 'puter game... and a couple needed small things
but yeah..we went to GROCERY shop LOL..which we did
