• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have BPD , and have had it my entire life

I hate:

The destroyed relationships

Fear of abandonment is my main issue. It causes clinginess, attention-seeking behavior, etc..............

Anyway my name is Sarabi........ im pleased to be on board.

Hi there. Abandonment was my deepest issue, and it still crops up occassionally, just not like it used to. Therapy and hard work helped me heal it. Also, a discipleship relationship with a woman from my church. She helped me see my relationship with God in a whole new light.

Get a good, cognitive behaioral therapist and get involved in a Bible study and find a discipler/mentor.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Sarabi. I have the same exact problem. I think I have BPD but haven't been diagnosed. I have all the symptoms, including fear of abandonment, clinginess, and fear of being alone. When there's someone in my life I depend on, if they meet my expectations I see them as a hero, but if they don't I tend to see them as the exact opposite. I always have a feeling that someone doesn't love me enough, or that they only make up kind words just to humor me.

Hi there my dear sweet sister Sarabi I am almost pretty sure that I have BPD as well.
I am a MAJOR splitter there is no grays for me just everything is black and white. people are either kind, caring loving or evil and out to get me. I have a huge fear of rejection and when I have been rejected I see people as complete evil. Same with people who bully me, I see them as evil and working for the devil.
My only friend says that when I see people with potental to reject me I will judge them first and walk the other way without even giving a bennifit of the doubt. I want to let you know that I can dearly relate to you. Also a BIG WELCOME to CF. I hope that you find it easy to talk to folks on here. God bless you my dear sweet loving sister and LOTS OF LOVE TO YOU ((((((((((BIG HUGS)))))))))))

Welcome Sarabi and OlaOlala.

If there is a dialetical behavioral therapy group/therapist in your are you might want to consider checking out that treatment. I was just in a program where this treatment was used and it deals a lot with the distortions of the mind, as cognitive behavioral therapy does, but has been specifically noted as a treatment for BPD.

Hey, Sarabi--if you aren't getting enough support here, please email me. WOOPS--they won't let me post my email. <staff edit>! I think you can figure it out. Or look for me on facebook--<staff edit> (I'm from North Carolina)--just tell me who you are, and I can add you and to the closed BPD sites I'm on. I am on here looking for other Christian people with BPD, but it doesn't look very active! I am on a couple of closed BPD sites on facebook, but not everyone is Christian, so sometimes the attitude isn't looking towards God for answers. I am witnessing on there, but I would also like to have a page at some point as well for people who have borderline and would like to look into the scriptures for help.
