Despising yet Craving
crows picking off the charred remains
washed away by sweeping rains
there's nothing left, not a limb
it's like this for those without Him
what we do will quickly fade
torn apart by ravenous blades
fake ecstasy, what they keep us on
knowing full well that they're wrong
we've seen our share of storm days
and cities burned in mythful haze
on which they coughed and then fell silent
wishing for a death less violent
but light will shatter all their lies
which everyone now blindly buys

until the loneliness subsides
eradicate the scum in me
from the lies now set me free
