• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Please don't give up, you are worthy and valuable. Both to other people in your life but especially to God. I know it's hard, and it often feels like it would be better to end it, but God does have a purpose for your life even if you can't see it right now. Praying for you.

I've called them before, they're really nice and helpful.

Are you seeing a therapist or anything? I suggest you do, they're there for a reason and if you can't find an affordable one, there are places that offer counseling by licensed professionals that have a sliding scale from free to a certain amount based on your income.

blahtherapy is a good website, but it's not a professional place where diagnosis or anything can be done. Just two strangers on the internet, one helping, one venting. I go there sometimes.

Take a deep breath. Do you have a pet? Grab them and pet them or hug them. Even talk to them, it's very therapeutic.

Do you live alone? If you do, call a friend. Ask them to come over, you don't have to give them the details, just say that you need someone right now. Or if you live with your parents, go wake them if they're asleep. Just be around people. I know, when you want to die, being around people is the last thing you want.

Thank you for your kind words. I used to be believe God had a plan for me but it's been years and I still feel lost. My faith is on a roller coaster

Hi, thank you for taking time to reply. I don't have a therapist but I wish I did. I tried looking it up and they go $100 a session and that is too much for me. Idk how to look for cheap or free ones. I want one that is a christian as well. However, wrokign full time and taking online classes, I dont have time for one :doh1:

I will try out blahtherapy in the future..
I do have a pet and she was with me last night.. I always cuddle her when I'm sad. It relaxed me a bit but I was still depressed..
I live wit my family actually and didnt want to be around anybody..

I wanted to give you a *big hug*.

If you CAN find a free therapist YOU MUST FIND TIME for it. Working full-time and having school will make it very difficult, but if you get the chance to see someone and FEEL BETTER, you must FIND A WAY!

Try to stay strong.

Prayfully search for churches in your area that offers counseling. Look for a support group too.
Keep knocking at doors and they will be open.
Hows your faith life is going? Are you away from the Lord? Do you have deep friendships in the faith? Do you known people that loves you and accepts you by who you really are without wearing masks? God has a family and desires we to have meaningful deep relationships with brothers and sisters in the faith. You just have to reach out, and let go of trying to please people, pretend you are something you are not. We are all imperfect people in need of much grace. Be honest. God loves you and accepts you.
Hugs! Praying with you.

Watch out, some free/cheap therapists are useless. I went to a so called Christian counsellor because I have no money for a psychiatrist and what a load of candy floss. She told me to do yoga and spoil myself. When I have not a single drop of serotonin left, I've lost the three people who mattered most to me and God has turned his back on me. I am buried alive, a living dead in the pit of hell, how is a bit of yoga going to fix that? She admitted that she has never been depressed herself. It is somethong you cannot possibly understand unless you've been there. A highly experienced psychiatrist is probably a better bet.
