I read an article about a woman who desecrated the body of a woman who had just passed away. She was dismantling the woman's body. I read that the person who passed away may have been an ex of the "desecrator's" current boyfriend. I hope that this whole thing wasn't over a man, much less anything else for that matter. What punishment should this woman have in your opinion?

What punishment should this woman have in your opinion?

Whatever a judge deems just, probably a year in jail.

It's an interesting question though because generally the main offense in desecration of a corpse is against decency, as the person is dead and cannot be harmed. The surviving family and the community as a whole are victims. (interestingly enough, state punishments for desecration or abuse of corpses vary wildly from state to state).
