I have been struggling with depression really bad for a really long time and im tired of it started talking to a counciler and all that! but im still depressed well in the begining of all this i wasnt okay with taking medicine for it but im begining to think about it! I just need for people to pray for me and i will be praying to. to know what to do! thanks a bunch

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Depression is tough to pull yourself out of. I think with your counsellor it will take time...you have to feel comfortable enough to open up to them. Hang in there!! Praying for you!

I know when I suffered depression a few years back. I was not strong enough in my faith to handle the depression, so I had to seek help. They put me on medicine for it and the depression got so much better. It helped me to begin growing in my faith and my place in this world as a child of God. So sometimes we have to rely on medicine for alittle while until we're able to fight back. I'm completely off all the depression medicines. So, keep pressing on sister. I will keep you in my prayers.
Also "The Bible Cure for Depression and Anxiety", is a wonderful book to read. It has scriptures and guidance. I loved it, and still go back to it sometimes.
