This may not be the answer for all, but if you have someone you really love, and that loves you it will give you joy in your heart (and inspire your mind).
Some people have what may be called the gift of celibacy (eg. Paul) but even he/they needed beauty & love in their lives - for him it was the church.
Without this you may experience a dull heart-ache and lack-lustre - low energy.
I find it helpful, even neccessary to be totally honest, then you see cleary and know what to ask for.
"ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." (John 16v24)
