• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey, to all those who suffer from depression:

Do you keep a journal? If not, you should start right now. Keeping a journal helps you get the bad feelings and thoughts out of your system so you cannot curl up with them anymore. After you write a page of whatever, you really do feel better. Write a journal entry focusing on what God has done for you today or for the past year. Try not to focus on too much negativity, but point out the positives in your life. They are there, but sometimes they are just too hard to see. God bless!

I keep a journal for my thoughts and the progress that's going on in my life concerning with my struggle with Depression. It really does help out with a lot of the issues that ensue me and it's the best way I know to escape from my problems, in a healthy manner at least.

I used to write a lot, but now it's really hard to do. Like the last time I tried writing about how I feel, I completely spaced out...and it was like I was watching someone else write. When I would try to focus on making the letters, I wouldn't even remember how to write. It was really weird and it scared me a lot. I can't really write very well about my depression and stuff anymore.

I have been keeping journals, as a writer for 4 and half years, now. I have a recently new journal I keep my thoughts in. I like writing in them, hopinh noone will find out my thoughts, feelings, etc, because they would probably think i was crazy or something. :(

I agree with you. I keep a journal on here but it is nothing like my personal one at home. Sometimes I wonder if I should go see a Psychiatrist.
