  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Isaiah 61v3 speaks of the spirit of heaviness, this spirit can attack through excessive mourning, sorrow grief, self pity, insomnia, broken heart , despair-dejection, hopelessness, depression, suicidal thoughts, inner hurts torn spirit, or heaviness itself. The best advice i can give you is realize that the devil is attacking our hope and trust in the Lord. Attack this attack against you with the garment of praise, the oil of Joy, sing , praise God and dont stop. Bind this strongman of heaviness. the devil comes to steal our joy off all of us at some time or another. But he is only able to those whom he may. 1 peter 5v8.

Ed, I know what you are going through. I do the same thing every now and then. Sometimes it is satan trying to get at me and other times I'm just.. depressed. It happens and usually you can tell the difference when it is satan or just plain ole depression. I usually just pray about it and seek God, and usually I feel better. Now if it doesn't go away, or it keeps coming back in a regular pattern you might want to get some help, but then I'm no expert so I would seek God about it and see what he got to say about it. I consider him to be a pretty good expert. Well I'll go now. I've run out words.

In Christ,
Anna

Keeping you in my prayers dude. I know hwo you feel

Depression is something i went through alot during my time of looking for a university. Stress is what caused it. There is a way around it though. Jump up and down like crazy until your so tired you're out of breath. then do some stomach cruches until your tired again. Then take a rest. That always helps me feel better.

That's what happened to me...well I think that's what the cause of it was. It's hard to explain. I worry about everything now, and I'm so incredibly worried and panicked a lot of the time...even over small stuff. It's the worst way to live, but I haven't been able to do anything that really has a big impact on the way I feel. :sigh:

Big Ed,
I will pray for you,
But also consider, that if you can't
point to a current life event that has
depressed you, maybe you should
seek medical advice. Your depression
could be physiological, and treated
easily with medications. I've had ones
close to me go through it as well.
If you can't explain why or what is the source...
seek medical advice as well.

Depression is a weird thing. Sometimes we get panic attacks for no reason. Like all these little things can crunch up which would put you under a fiar bit of weight. So i say, take it easy when you're depressed. Have fun (try to avoid computer games and TV) like go for a jog, play a little archery, walk on the beach, buy a guitar and learn how to play it, anything that's fun to you. There's a whole world out there God has created for us.

A bible verse says something about worrying. A bit like "why worry? Does it improve your life? Does it add more years to your life? Live your life to the fullest *and something something something*. Don't worry."

My brain doesn't have enough power to hold the bible verse numbers. I jsut remember what it teaches me :).
