Presbyterian Church in America here. You know, we're the intolerant ones!
I go to PCA churches sometimes. I have actually really enjoyed the ones I've been to. I always download sermons from Tim Keller, my favorite PCA guy...

Well said! Everything else is just an intermural debate!

Non-denominational. Charismatic (Pentecostal). Protestant.

That is the heritage in which I was brought up and nurtured. In the tradition of classical Pentecostalism, trained in the manner of Guy Duffield and Nathaniel Van Cleave - Pentecostalism foremost theologians.

Of course, within the ranks of modern neo-Pentecostalism (the Charismatic movement), there would be errant and deviances here and there, of the cult of prosperity teachings, the Word-Faith movement, the Toronto blessings, etc etc.

I was Anglican for a couple of weeks, but after their decision on the gay issue, I've decided to go freelancing again. I'm part of the evangelical Anglican, but since they haven't split yet, I'll be supporting the split then joining afterwards.

Freelancing is good, because you can socialise to other Christians easily. And the view of a Church is God's Church, that consists of the Chosen people, the true Christians. So they all belong to God's church, but for me I don't belong to any worldy church only God's church.

...:D My church was founded by 'freelancers', and is now populated by them ...imagine a church that doesn't NEED a membership. It's funny how people say you just can't do stuff like this today...until you point out to them that it was most likely like this in 'Acts'...

This was good. Can you imagine if Paul had of said, "To the Church at Corinth, I need to know what your membership ID is?"
HAHAHAH....fantastic! The body of Christ does not need a pass, or fancy gowns, or marian rituals, or bapto rituals, etc. It is the Body and He is the Head.....good post! Amen, I don't see where Paul and them carried around their Christian membership card ;)

Well, there are many ways to answer that - but this is a short one.
The Protestant Church is not run by a head or Pope or Bishop. Interpretation of the Bible is left up to the Christian, based on study, continous devotion to the Word and prayer. I am Protestant. And I am Christian. I agree that Denominations are confusing and in many cases causes problems for the Christian when locating a congregation to Worship in. However, some things are interpreted different ways. ie: Baptism, Gifts, End Times...etc... and these beliefs seprate the Christian Church into denominations. Even a non-denominational church is, in fact, a Denomination. However, these small doctrinal issues that make up different denominations in the Protestant Church are not essentials, and not set dogma. We, as Christians believe the essentials to be the same. Saved by Grace Alone, through Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The only way to the Father is through the Son. We are ONE Church...saved by ONE GOD.

me too, you said it best!
