Hmm, I'm going to ask Rev Chamberlain then what he was talking about.Aronbengilad said:alli
That is not correct one can become demon possessed if they are walking with the Lord. It has happened in the past. It is less likely but God sometimes allows it if it is going to bring glory to God in the end.
In my opinion it is different to be possessed by demons rather than have a bad aura of spirits around you.. Maybe its one and the same, but to me, they are two different things.some drug addicts may get possessed but they would certainly be a small number. They need an exorcism. However most are oppressed by the spirits of drug addiction and need binding of spirits prayers (sometimes called deliverance). Such ministry should be done by mature believers not the new or inexperienced.

Pimorton--bless you, you are right. After what happened to me tonight I totally believe in this and that this is something that God can free you of.pimorton said:Rainbowprism, to answer your question, yes, a Christian can be oppressed by demons. Satan tempted Jesus Himself in the wilderness. The apostle Paul was prevented by Satan from visiting the Thessalonians. Paul wrote that we wrestle "against rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." The word wrestle means a grappling together, in which each party is in close contact and tries to control his opponent. This is not just an aura of spiritual activity, but the oppression you are asking about. Paul's answer for this is to "put on the full armor of God," so that you will be able to stand (Gr. antihistemi - to take a defensive stand) when the day of evil comes, and, after having done everything, to stand (Gr. histemi - to stand, taking an offensive posture).
I'm still in awe at the moment in light of this evening...I'll elaborate tommorow. G'night all!
