  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My hubby's wondered about this band. He's a huge metalhead, and we saw their CD in a Family Christian Store recently....he liked what he heard from the sample thing on the headsets, but hasn't inquired more.....

What's up with this band?
i'd advise your husband to buy them. i wouldn't call it "metal" but it's definetely heavy music. and it's great too.

i would also advise him to read HM Magazine.

awesome band...I listen to them when I workout. "Through The Black" is a great song.

If your husband likes heavy music..here are some other great Christian heavy bands he'd enjoy. Zao, East West, Living Sacrifice.
well i must say, i'm impressed. nice to see some people older than me liking the music of the weird youngens, haha. nice recommendations.

i would also like to add to the list these bands:
Norma Jean(more hardcore than metal)
The Chariot(more hardcore than metal)
As I Lay Dying (more metal. awesome band! awesome Christian metal band right there.)
Tourniquet (straightout metal. compareable to the older styles of metal. awesome Christian metal band right there.)
Project 86 (more just heavy rock if you ask me, but fantastic song writing and music is awesome.)
Sinai Beach(more hardcore than metal, but still great.)
Figure Four(hardcore on the likes of Hatebreed. pretty cool if i might add.)

any other curiosities, you could go to, www.solidstaterecords.com
Solid State Records is a record label that pushes out Christian heavy music.

i loved demon hunter when they first released their self-title, and i still love Through the Black (i especially love playing it on guitar! its easy really, but quite fun! ;) ) however, after a while, it started to bore me a bit. it all started sounding to same, and i drifted to other bands. however, their new album that just came out is supposed to be awesome, much better than the first. my buddy downloaded one of their songs (i forget the name) and he said its awesome, but i have yet to hear any of it.

other bands that'd be good to listen to: Disciple, Extol (LOVE them), East West (gotta love Song X  ), Project 86 (Songs to Burn Bridges By - definitely get it! :D ), Living Sacrifice....... hmm... i know there's more but i'm "multi-tasking" at the moment and not able to give my full attention to this.

and about Zao...
i've heard of them, but i haven't listened to any of their stuff. how good would you guys say they are?

oh one more good band: Underoath. they're new album is totally awesome.

awesome list there! i haven't heard The Chariot or Figure Four, but i'll probably look them up. my friend just burned me a Sinai Beach cd the other day, and i love it!

and i agree, its awesome that there are older people who dig this style of music, too. my buddy johnny, he's 30-something, and he's a major metal head! he's actually the lead singer for this rock/metal band called Crosseyed (i run their website...they're a local band here in Indiana). you should definitely check them out on soundclick.com!! way awesome!!
