Knewz.com is reporting that the Democratic Party's favorability rating has dropped to 29% according to a recent CNN/SSRS poll, marking a significant decline from previous ratings of 47%. Former Clinton pollster Mark Penn recently revealed that the party has increasingly relied on left-wing figures, such as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), which he believes may hinder electoral success. Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA) linked the party's decline to far-left policies.

No doubt.

At some of the town-halls Dems are hearing that disappointment live and in person with strong choruses of "do something". What's the reasoning? If you read the polling (HERE) since the OP doesn't provide the actual polls. It's Dems not happy with the Democratic party, as the party is too fixated on "protocols" "parliamentary rules" and "tradition" while the GOP have jettisoned that long ago and are just taking a flame thrower to democracy.

Democratic party, as the party is too fixated on "protocols" "parliamentary rules" and "tradition"
That made me laugh out loud - the Democratic Party has not shown 'adherence to protocols', 'parliamentary rules' and tradition in more than three decades when Bill Clinton went on National Television and lied bold face to the American public and they all covered for him.

This ill-conceived whataboutism just won't do. Your OP notes the disapproval rating of the party. I agreed, and explained why. And here's what I mean. You can't govern solely by presidential edict. You can't forego the role of congress and do as one pleases. And when those moves are blunted by the courts, you can't just have your minions try to legislate and remove the power of those courts you don't like. Those things are happening. And that's what I mean by jettisoning, frankly, the rule of law and taking a flame thrower to democracy.

nope - replies to direct quotes addressing the topic of the quote are not whataboutisms - especially when the response is addressing the same party

Now that would be a whataboutism unless you are referring to Biden.

The GOP hasn't come anywhere close to taking a "flamethrower to democracy."
How many bills has this democratically elected congress passed and sent to the president to sign into law?

Simply put - the party is in chaos from warring elements within themselves. The party of joy seems to have digressed into the party of violence and hatred and I don't believe you can win a majority that way.

In the last nine weeks since he took office?

Despite having all three branches of Government, as far as I know Trump has signed one bill.
The continuing resolution else the government got shut down.
He has signed more executive orders at this point in time than any other president.
Replete with some just being personal vendettas against perceived enemies.
He also is facing more lawsuits and judicial injunctions than any other president.
And the reason of course is because he forgoes the democratic process of governing.
Another reason is because the GOP as a whole chooses to ignore their responsibilities.
The New York Times literally has a lawsuit tracker because there are so many.

Oh noes! Bad poll!

Would it be better just to put it out of its misery and go with a single, national party namely MAGA?

the GOP have jettisoned that long ago and are just taking a flame thrower to democracy.
And the reason? They are so upset with Trump and Musk and a dysfunctional Cabinet that they want to take a (virtual) flame thrower to the GOP. Perhaps that's why burning Teslas have become a symbol of helpless--and justified--anger, displaced on the nearest targets.
They want boldness--which is why Sanders, AOC and the head of the progressive caucus are packing them in at events.
The DNC fears progressives--but when the USA starts looking like the depressing Era dust bowl--sooner than you think--it will take boldness just to get back to where we were.
How do you get back a Dept of Education--despite the victims--handicapped children, poor children, poor college students? The states will get block grants, and red states like mine will send them to affluent families for private schools.

Democrats are crying for an end to this nightmare. Get bold! Think big!

No - not at all. It would be better to have a Democratic Party that is more towards the center of the road and reflective of the majority of their constituents, not just the loudest minority.
