You do know how congressional elections work, don’t you? She wasn’t elected to office only in 1996. She was elected every two years since.

Either way, I was referring to her staying in her office beyond the point at which she was obviously incapable of performing its duties, a la Feinstein.

The article doesn't contain enough information to determine that. We don't know what she was like before this. My mom seemed perfectly normal up until the day she got lost driving to a place that she was very familiar how to drive to. That was my family's first time we knew something was wrong.

The last time she was elected was in November, less than two months ago. For those of you playing along at home, that's four months after she entered the memory care facility.

That's actually not accurate. She didn't run for reflection this last cycle. So either way she is on her way out, though I suspect part of her deciding not to run for reflection was probably realizing how bad her memory was getting.

Ah, ok - I was under the impression that she had run for re-election. Dead people have been elected before, so stranger things have happened.
