Delusional

8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

What do you think this delusion (v.11) is?

Here is a list of possibilities which collectively may represent the 'Strong Delusion'.

(1) the (non-)scientific theory of 'evolution' as sufficient cause.

(2) the philosophy of atheism and 'strong' agnosticism.

(3) the belief in 'science' and technology as a 'saviour'.

(4) the massive abuse of drugs.

(5) the belief in and worship of the 'sword' = i.e., force as a means, solution and end.

(6) the desire for 'wealth' and control of money and resources, power over others.

(7) the belief in 'capitalism', 'communism', or any other political 'isms'.

(8) the substitution of 'patriotism' for loyalty to revealed Godly truth and wisdom.

(9) the belief in a visible 'rapture', the absence of which is taken to indicate the End Time is hardly here yet.

(10) the belief that the the modern state of 'Israel' is some kind of equvalent to the people of God to whom the promises and blessings were given.

(11) the belief that the visible 'church' hierarchy and institutions are some kind of equvalent to the people of God to whom the promises and blessings were given.

(12) the belief that the 'Anglo-Saxons' or 'White Race' are some kind of equvalent to the people of God to whom the promises and blessings were given.

(13) the longstanding conversion of money, originally just a form of accounting and bookkeeping to keep track of labour and the relative value of goods and services, into a 'commodity' or 'resource' with an intrinsic value and life of its own. In short, the making of 'money' into a 'Golem'.

(14) the legal fiction that a 'corporation' is a 'person' or entity with the same unalienable rights as individuals have. This original lie invented by lawyers has now become a dogma, and corporations a new form of idolatry.

(15) the fiction that Western nations are still basically democracies, rather than oligarchies or 'benevalent' dictatorships run by gangs of ruthless criminals.



Is that enough delusions to describe the modern world for you?

What do you think this delusion (v.11) is?

It's not that God literally sends them a delusion, but that He turns away from them. Thus God allows Satan to have his way with them, not because God doesn't love them, but because they refuse to follow God. I'm reminded of Rom. 1:16-32.
