  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

... But I'm wondering, can you show me these Sod's in every single Scripture, and every single one since there could be multiple ones in a certain text? I doubt you can. ...

Please explain your point clearly? Can you show sod in a single scripture? The sod is only one layer. There are the four layers of Pardes, and three more layers in the metaphor of the letters. To show them all would require a work larger than 7 times the size of the Bible. So are you mocking me for not having documented them all? Can you document a single one?

What are the rules in scripture, yes, they are there, for interpreting the hidden layers?
What letter does Ge 1:1 start with? and if you say the bet, you're wrong.
Tell me the sod of bereshit, or even just a piece of it.
What is the meaning of the alefbet when the letters are read in order?
What is the meaning of darkness, and if you say evil, you're wrong.
Tell me the sod of the narrative of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey.

What is the kingdom of heaven? and what are it's keys?

There are not multiple sods in any text. The sod is only one layer and it has only one meaning. Your question suggests an ignorance about the matter. The four layers are interpreted as the four voices of God; Priest, King, Prophet, and Judge. These map to the four purposes for scripture. Can you even match them?

Please demonstrate a single point of familiarity with the topic rather than just tell us you've seen it all before.

Are you having a conversation here or in Academia.whatever? I'm not reading your papers there to give you traffic and I'm not referencing your work to give you links. Talk here with content, or we won't talk. Your posts are nothing more than spam to build your reputation there.

"Tell me the sod of the narrative of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey."

Well one reason he did this was to fulfill Moses setting his son on a donkey to be the prophet like unto Moses. Another was to show he came as humble suffering servant. Another might have something to do with Ishmael, the wild ass of a man, the man of bondage, whom the Lord rules over and has complete control and is nothing, who is the enemy of the children of God both spiritually and physically all those unrepentant ones.

The male represents those who see clearly, the female those who do not see clearly. They all do.
The donkey represents a prophet... they all do.
The old female donkey was the old prophets who led the way, the young colt was John the Baptist, who knew exactly who Jesus was.
Garments are always works. Jesus sat on and was finished with, the works of the disciples.
We are the branches. The people separated themselves from Christ, the tree, and rather than wave them in the air/spirit, threw them on the ground saying :We are an earthly people". They also threw their own garments/works there saying, we are a people of earthly works.

Though it looked as though they were welcoming him, the hidden layer shows they were rejecting him, and not much later they were crying "Crucify him".

This is the nature of the hidden narrative.

You are assuming a lot of bad things. Things I hadn't even thought of. You can also read my stuff here also if you have Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/898062356934600/files/ . I am not focused on my reputation. If I was I wouldn't be where I am today.

I also wasn't mocking. I was setting up to make a point that we won't easily see everything hidden in a text right away. So we shouldn't just say something isn't Scripture because of just that. There is so much depth to the Scriptures.

I disagree. I'm pretty sure there are even multiple mysteries in one text. Like the rabbis say the Torah itself has 70 layers. I don't know if they are right, but it is a lot.

I'm sorry if I am. Is English your first language?

The Torah is more than the written word.

"What are the rules in scripture, yes, they are there, for interpreting the hidden layers?"

This is my understanding. As long as they do not contradict righteousness, truth, themselves, logic and the Pashat, they are lawful. There is also applicatory interpretation which probably has the widest amount.

Divine meaning
Since God’s word is established forever (2Sa 7:25 the servant is Christ), a shadow means the same thing everywhere is it used. If a donkey is a shadow of a prophet, everywhere there is a donkey, it is a shadow of a prophet. This rule alone makes the shadows humanly impossible to fabricate as it requires the interlocking of a double entendre found in all the scriptures. (This keeps us in awe)

Free-for-all allegory has been properly criticized because allegorical or metaphoric meanings have no way to be verified, and we are persuaded by the loudest proponent of a meaning. This rule dis-allows free-for-all allegory by setting an impossible standard for the use of allegory. Every donkey is a prophet, every garment is a work, etc. such that every scripture participates in a hidden picture of Christ. Such a phenomenon is impossible for men to produce and therefore when we observe it occurring, we can have confidence that it is God’s intended meaning.

Consequence of lack of Divine meaning The resulting interpretation is likely to be free-for-all allegory and eisegesis.

Christocentric
The riddle of Samson (Jud 14:12ff) tells us Christ is the answer to all the riddles. If the shadow doesn’t look like Christ, it isn’t a good shadow. (This keeps us focused)

Jesus told the disciples on the road to Emmaus that all the scriptures spoke of him (Lu 24:13ff), and chastised the scribes and Pharisees for searching the scriptures to seek life, but rejecting him, since they spoke of him (Joh 5:39 ). If we don’t see Christ in the scriptures, we have missed the primary purpose of the scriptures. And if Christ is not central to a proposed SP interpretation, it is to be rejected. This rule alone separates SP from Gnosticism, Kabbalah and Midrash.

Consequence of lack of Christocentric meaning: You miss the point of the scriptures in revealing God through Christ.

Self-contained
And since we are to let everyman be a liar and God be true (Ro 3:4), outside references are not required to solve the riddles and see the shadows. (This keeps us devoted)

Not only are we not going to bring in extra-biblical books to determine the meaning of scripture, but we will not make apostles out of historians by elevating their writings concerning the meaning of scripture. We will not make apostles out of document critics. Errors to documents spoil the hidden narrative and once the hidden narrative is known, the proper document can be discerned. Nor will we accept what God has shown you personally, unless He has shown it to you through the scriptures.

Consequence of using outside resorces: You make the historian, or the document specialist into an apostle, giving him power over the interpretation of scripture.

Self examination
Jer 17:9 The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Our assumptions about scripture and the rules we use to guide our interpretation effect the ultimate meaning that we get from scripture. It is important to evaluate those assumptions and rules to ensure that they permit the scriptures to speak for themselves rather than permitting us to impose our own meaning upon them.

My assumptions and convictions are these:

1. The Bible is the word of God which has been protected for us in such a manner that it is considered infallible in every jot and tittle. By using the proper methods of interpretation, as taught by the apostles, errant manuscripts may be discerned.
2. The meaning of the Bible is contained in multiple layers as described by the church from the earliest days, as a literal and a spiritual layer. These layers are in complete agreement with each other in every way.
3.The hidden spiritual layer is discerned using methods taught by the apostles in the New Testament. It is called the meat of the gospel, whereas the literal meaning is called the milk of the gospel. The milk is sufficient for salvation. The meat provides the spiritual nourishment to enable a mature faith and walk.
The rules are discerned using the same methods as discerning SP, so it should be expected that those practicing literal methods may disagree with how the rules are determined. That doesn't matter. SP needs to be evaluated to see if it is self-consistent as well as if it produces verifiable. meaningful and orthodox results.

Consequence of not doing self-examination: The measure of truth becomes the individual and the standard changes to meet your own goals.

Humility
Since God has said that not a jot or tittle will pass away (Mt 5:18), until one knows why each jot and tittle is there, a complete understanding has not been derived. (This keeps us humble)

Such humility is exemplified by one who listens to others’ opinions and based on scripture, tests all things to hold fast to those things which are good (1Th 5:21 ). Such humility is missing in one who insists that only his opinion is correct, and uses phrases like “The Bible says so” while pulling passages out of context and displaying an attitude of unwillingness to discuss the meaning or context of those passages.

Consequence of lack of humility The scriptures are wrested or twisted to mean what you want them to mean.

2Pe 3:16 As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
Complete
Since man shall live “by every word” (Mt 4:4, Lk 4:4), a doctrine is not sound until it sums up and includes all that God has said about it. (This keeps us searching)

This attitude of searching recognizes that the Bible is full of meaning, and that perhaps one person in his own studies has not yet identified or considered all the applicable passages. This attitude is missing when a few verses are used as a shotgun to force a discussion to a preconceived conclusion.

Consequence of lack of completeness Conclusions may be premature.

Pr 18:13 ¶ He that answereth a matter before he heareth [it], it [is] folly and shame unto him.
Rigorous
Since every word concerning life and death must be established by two or three witnesses (De 17:6), every shadow must have at least two supporting scripture witnesses. This means we cannot define a shadow with a single verse. The shadows speak of Christ and the cross. There is no other topic which addresses life and death for all men. (This keeps us rigorous in methodology)

A shadow is a hidden meaning which is not contained in the literal meaning (Ro 10.1). Shadows are not the product of a wild imagination and are therefore verifiable by the scriptures. When a shadow has two or three witnesses, it should be regarded as a tentative meaning. This rule specifically forbids a single verse from becoming definitive.

Consequence of lack of rigor: Conclusions may be premature and/or wrong.

"What letter does Ge 1:1 start with? and if you say the bet, you're wrong.
Tell me the sod of bereshit, or even just a piece of it."

I was always under the impression the Bet was.

Well I know that certain text have an enlarged bet and that it seems to have something to do with YHWH establishing his dwelling place.

The primary metaphor of the aleph is "God spoke and created the heavens and the earth". Secondary metaphor expressing the creation by separation:
The Spirit hovering over the waters - used by 1 John 5:8
The firmament between the waters, war, etc.

The aleph is silent, and in the case of Ge 1:1 it is invisible. From this it is discerned that God spoke and created the heavens and the earth when there was no one there to see or hear it.

The first two letters are aleph-bet 'ab' meaning Father, but no one has seen the Father because of the invisible aleph of Ge 1:1.
The second two letters are bet-resh 'bar' or Son. Only the Son has seen the Father and makes him known. He is the first revelation to man.

Letter by letter the metaphor of the bereshit is: A revelation to man (as a title), it is revealed that, God spoke and created the heavens and the earth, his word did not return void, what he intended to do, he finished.

Split it in half and bereshit says God created six. And we are told he created in six days.
In the middle is the word for man, surrounded by the word for covenant. In the beginning was a covenant with man at the heart.
Splitting it again and again we find that in the beginning:
The Son created the appointed time.
The Son offered total devotion
The Son created six
and The Word was in the beginning.

"What is the meaning of the alefbet when the letters are read in order?"

Seems to mean our strong ox who makes a covenant with us by the cross. And this just came to me now, but grammatically the aleph-taw is something that points to a word, sort of like this, "In the beginning God created at-> the heavens, and at-> the earth" Which is funny how the English "AT" is like ALEF-TAW. So it seems like the aleph-taw being a pointer, it might represent like how the Aleph-Taw points to things, everything points back to the Son and the Cross. Like the Son pointed us back to the Law. The Law is the LAw of God, which is the Law of Nature. Christ the Aleph Taw points us back to nature and its law to tell us spiritual truths, which in turn point back to him and his way.

There are 28 letter forms. 22 letters, 5 of which have final forms, and a letter which exists but is not used to form any word.
The blank page represents God...God is
God created the heavens and the earth
He revealed to man that
He pursued them with a
Declared word
which they heard
and it distinguished them
as the bride .
When they understood
they became the bride,
a new creation.
The Son of God
taught
the promise of the Father.
The Son of Man
fulfilled the promise by his person
reconciling holiness and grace at the end of his life.
He spoke of heaven through examples of earth.
Holiness and grace were reconciled in his flesh.
The Son of God died
revealing
that his word does not return void.
He completed his work resulting in a new life.
The Son of God died
and finished the declared works.
The Prophet died (prophecy is fulfilled)
The judge died (judgement is ended)
He is the King. (and a mystery not to be spoken of lightly)

"What is the meaning of darkness, and if you say evil, you're wrong."

I'm pretty sure it does have the meaning of evil spiritually. But I don't doubt that there is another meaning. But to me it means that there was darkness in the world of sin and death and basically all were blind until God said, "let the true light now be made manifest to all men, and thus shined Jesus into the world, drawing all men to his Cross, turning them from darkness to light, from the power of Satan unto God." But this to seems to an easier one.

Here's a slightly more difficult one:

The Sun in Genesis being brought forth represents the Sun of Righteousness with healing in his wings who rules the time of light with the sons of light. But the Moon is represented by Satan, who rules over the kingdom and time of darkness until he is to be as ashes under the feet of the righteous, God's holy people Israel the Church, which is why in Revelation the woman clothed with the Sun having twelve stars has the moon under her feet.

If darkness evil, then God lived in evil before he said "Let there be light". This cannot be!
Men who are in sin, and who are not destroyed are receiving the love of God in his grace and mercy.
The primary metaphor is that of Love in that the Trinity dwelt in perfect Love before creation.
The duality of the Bible IS NOT good vs. evil, but the duality of Love and Holiness.
Holiness... the light, could not be expressed before creation because the primary expression of holiness is separation. God was in perfect unity.
But he was Holy none the less and light was hidden in his being. Elohim has a pun, a word that sounds similar which means 'not dark'.
As soon as there was something to be separate from... his new creation.. he declared "I am Holy!" "Let there be light."

So come out of the darkness! come out of a sinful life that presumes upon grace, and into the light! Be ye therefore Holy, declares the Lord.

The Sun is the representation of the holiness of God in the divine Son, the moon is the holiness of Christ in the Son of Man.
During judgement there are shadows of grace. In the times when men live to presume upon grace, there are lights declaring the holiness of God.

The firmament is Christ reconciling the two parts of God's word: Holiness and grace.
Abraham's children are called dust, sand of the sea, and stars in the firmament.
The dust are those without the word. The sand of the sea is Israel washed by the word, and the stars are the church, made to be like Christ (and they are IN Christ) and declaring the Holiness of God to men living in sin, presuming upon grace.

To me it seems Revelation might have a mystery when it says the sun will be darkened and the moon turn to blood. I think it might be saying that the wicked Israelites who forsake the predominantly solar calendar of Enoch (typified by the sun darkening, darkening the counsel of the Lord to use it) will be devoured by a new month (chodesh) as Hosea says about those who forsake God's true appointments but do their own thing, which is why the moon turns to blood, which they predominantly go by like Babylon. And Revelation like Noah's flood account give purely 30 day months so that it is a 360 day calendar which the Jewish Pharisaic calendar is not compatible with.

Life is in the blood, and re-using the same symbols, since they must be the same everywhere:
The judgement due to the holiness of God will turn to grace. The holiness declared to sinful men produces life.
This happened at the cross.

Let me say something. I think that with the Holy Spirit/Mind of God, we can not only see these things in the paper and ink of Scripture, but in nature itself.

God spoke nature into existence.. All that God has declared is the proper meaning of Torah.
The proper way to interpret scripture is to begin with the propositional metaphor of his word and mimic the same method when applied to nature, and apply the same rules.

The tolah worm crawls up a 'tree' dies and 'bleeds' and gives new life to it's young.
The camel represents the judge in scripture. It carries it's own water/word. Just as the judge was the Word of God spoke to Israel.
