  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

When you all have deja vu, does it seem like a memory? It does for me.

It makes me think that deja vu is something like the Lord revealing something to you, but your mind only remember snipets, because it didnt seem that important to you at the time, and then when it happens, you remember.

Now in several of my daja vu's, it was like showing me a specific scene in my life. Like once in my daja vu, I was at the computer typing on the christian message board, and I even knew what I was going to type. And no matter how hard I wanted to change what I was going to write, it really couldnt be written any other way.

And then there was another time, I was given daja vu, and I seen us in a camper, the exact one we ended up getting. But in my vision, I was shown me on one bunk and I looked across and saw my little brother in the other one. Now shortly after daja vu was revealed I had a very bad dream. The one bunk fell on my mom and killed her. I woke up fearful and crying. So much so it woke my mom up. When she came to me, I told her exactly what was in my dream. And I begged her to remove that bunk from the trailer. It must have effected her, because she took it out. So I believe what the Lord had shown me saved my moms life.

Then there was another time when all four of us from my family was in this house we rented, and all of us had the exact same daja vu. Now that was cool. And at that point in my life, God had totally turned my life around. It was there, I became a new creature in Christ.

So for me, I have seen daja vu as a prophet gift.

deja vu 1.Psychology. the illusion of having previously experienced something actually being encountered for the first time.

It's just something that happens. Please don't try to make it mystical. The gifts of the Spirit are clearly listed in the Bible

Deja vu is simply having a feeling that you've done this before. For example, you may go on a trip and when you get there, have the feeling that you've been there before, even though you really haven't. Or you may have a conversation with someone and have the feeling that you've already had this conversation with them.

It isn't something bad or magical or spiritual or religious. Certainly a person could make a big deal out of it in their own mind, but it doesn't have to be.

I wouldn't consider deja vu and prophetic dreams, etc. to be the same thing. Deja vu is just a feeling that you've done something before. Having a dream or vision that something is going to happen is a different thing entirely. Certainly, having had a prophetic dream/vision could result in a feeling of deja vu when the prophesy comes to pass. But the two still aren't the same thing.

I think it's merely a natural feeling that occurs when a person has an experience that is similar to a past experience. When there are multiple similarities between the two experiences, something clicks in the brain that remembers the past experience, and that's when the weird feeling occurs.

for me, deja vu never feels like I've experienced it before. Instead, I get the strange feeling that I dreamt it before. Which is realy weird since I don't remember any of my dreams.

Some say this is just a psycological effect of one side of the brain getting ahead of the other, others say that it is some kind of premonition. I do not know which it is.

If it is the first, then there is no problem with it according to the Bible, it is just a sign of the decay of our physical bodies due to the fall. If the second, then we must be careful. While God has been known to reveal the future through visions, it is also something that is used by Satan.

Does the bible say anything about Deja Vu? What is it and is it bad?

Thanks alot and God Bless

My Bishop explained deja vu as a spiritual marker/indicator that we have arrived in the natural where our spirit already was. This is the understanding that I got:

God has already authored our lives. With Him time is eternity. He is not limited by our time system. He has control over our past, present and future simultaneously. He has given angels charge over us to protect us and to ensure that we reach a certain place/assignment at a specific time. So when we have deja vus we experience the I've been here before or we had this conversation before because in the Spirit realm we did and now our natural man has arrived to that place/assignment on time. It is an indication that we are on tract with what God has declared for our lives.

When it happens, it certainly feels like something spiritual--or at best erie.

Well I've done some research on it because it's happening more frequently(but not consistently)lately. Just this week in the span of 2 days I've had three occurences of this "deja vu". For me, it's not a feeling of familiarity. It's the fact that I dream of things before they happen, and it's like "hey I've dreamt this before. "Most reported cases are of mundane and routine tasks, but recently I had an "experience" that could happen on only one day of the year. Mole Day.(It's a Chemistry thing). Another thing I find interesting is the point of view the subject remembers the experience in. For instance most of the times I "see" it through my own eyes but, some times it's from a third person view, like a tv show or movie. And the time between the dream and the actual event has been getting shorter and shorter.
Just some thoughts, if anyone has anything, I'd be glad to hear it.

Sometimes God gives us dreams which are very vivid but also very symbolic the night before, sometimes we are conscious of the meaning of these dreams and sometimes we are not entirely conscious of the meaning of the dreams.

We are very intricate creatures and we operate on many levels. Many of our daily observations are made on a deeper level then what we can understand fully on our conscious level.

It is said in Scripture that God directs the thoughts of kings, regardless what is plain in the Bible is that the Lord has many means to influence us and those around us. Many means which are beyond are understanding, that is.

I would have to challenge you on that my friend. I have de ja vu on a regular and it is ALWAYS something that I had dreamed about sometimes weeks prior. I have kept dream journals to see if I was trippin, and I'm not... I would say yes don't make them out to be some mystical sensation but I really do feel The Holy sometimes communicates with us through our dreams.

Same! I have always had them for as long as I can remember but in the past I thought nothing of them and just brushed them off. They have been occurring more frequently now and it is to the point where I feel there is something to them. I did realize previously that often I have de ja vu surrounding or foreshadowing a significant event in my life. I am not sure what it is but I believe The Holy Spirit often communicates with us through our dreams. My advise for you is to get a dream journal and start logging them.

I am glad you cleared that up, it make sense. I have dreams of future things OFTEN and I still haven't been able to understand why but it is good to have a clear understanding of the difference. Thank you for sharing that.
