It isn't something bad or magical or spiritual or religious. Certainly a person could make a big deal out of it in their own mind, but it doesn't have to be.

I would have to challenge you on that my friend. I have de ja vu on a regular and it is ALWAYS something that I had dreamed about sometimes weeks prior. I have kept dream journals to see if I was trippin, and I'm not... I would say yes don't make them out to be some mystical sensation but I really do feel The Holy sometimes communicates with us through our dreams.deja vu 1.Psychology. the illusion of having previously experienced something actually being encountered for the first time.
It's just something that happens. Please don't try to make it mystical. The gifts of the Spirit are clearly listed in the Bible

Same! I have always had them for as long as I can remember but in the past I thought nothing of them and just brushed them off. They have been occurring more frequently now and it is to the point where I feel there is something to them. I did realize previously that often I have de ja vu surrounding or foreshadowing a significant event in my life. I am not sure what it is but I believe The Holy Spirit often communicates with us through our dreams. My advise for you is to get a dream journal and start logging them.Well I've done some research on it because it's happening more frequently(but not consistently)lately. Just this week in the span of 2 days I've had three occurences of this "deja vu". For me, it's not a feeling of familiarity. It's the fact that I dream of things before they happen, and it's like "hey I've dreamt this before. "Most reported cases are of mundane and routine tasks, but recently I had an "experience" that could happen on only one day of the year. Mole Day.(It's a Chemistry thing). Another thing I find interesting is the point of view the subject remembers the experience in. For instance most of the times I "see" it through my own eyes but, some times it's from a third person view, like a tv show or movie. And the time between the dream and the actual event has been getting shorter and shorter.
Just some thoughts, if anyone has anything, I'd be glad to hear it.
I am glad you cleared that up, it make sense. I have dreams of future things OFTEN and I still haven't been able to understand why but it is good to have a clear understanding of the difference. Thank you for sharing that.Deja vu is simply having a feeling that you've done this before. For example, you may go on a trip and when you get there, have the feeling that you've been there before, even though you really haven't. Or you may have a conversation with someone and have the feeling that you've already had this conversation with them.
It isn't something bad or magical or spiritual or religious. Certainly a person could make a big deal out of it in their own mind, but it doesn't have to be.
I wouldn't consider deja vu and prophetic dreams, etc. to be the same thing. Deja vu is just a feeling that you've done something before. Having a dream or vision that something is going to happen is a different thing entirely. Certainly, having had a prophetic dream/vision could result in a feeling of deja vu when the prophesy comes to pass. But the two still aren't the same thing.
