This is a descussion about the death metal band deicide. I am a devout baptist and, I have accepted christ into my life and have been saved and baptised. But in music discussions These guys have been mentioned as satanic. I personally like the band, though i feel sorry for and pity them because all of their members except for Raph Santolla(who is a gutarist for decide and a Christian himself)that they may never accept christ due to their image and will never recieve salvation and a ticket to heaven. I like the music though i Strongly disagree with their lyrics(as with most death metal it's really the energy and sound that makes a band, not so much the lyrics) Their music has not affected my beliefs at all, I still go to church and i know without a doubt that jesus is always with me. They have their personal beliefs, but they are good musicians. I also think that if a person is worried that the music they listen to will have a negative affect on them that they shouldn't listen to that genre. I have been listening to them for almost 2 1/2 yrs. but i want to hear other peoples opinons on this matter.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
