Equity specifically refers to justice, that is the meaning of the word (equitas in Latin means something like "fairness"). Distributive justice is part of that.

Equity refers to equal outcome, this is why it's flawed. You can never have equal outcome in life as everyone has different
skills and abilities in life.

Equal opportunity means everyone gets the same chance to go to the field they desire.

Ironically, the Scandanavian countries were far ahead of the rest of the West when it came to providing
equal opportunities for both males and females. What they came to learn is that the divide between
male and female outcomes grew further apart. They did not expect this to happen, but it did.

In fact, here in the US, 70% of the female lawyers who are just about to receive partnerships in law firms,
quit. They come to learn that there is more to life than earning big bucks and working for a firm 80 hours
a week.

In all this, the far left keeps pushing their equity ideology, which will fail. However, if it goes on for too long,
it will take society down with them.
