  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hypothetical: If your parents did not feel they were capable of raising you and giving you the good life you deserved (because of RL issues, not yet old enough, w/e) would you have been OK with them aborting you?

I was given up for adoption, so the question is a bit moot, dontcha think?

I'm never okay with an abortion.

Pro-choice isn't about aborting every baby, it's about giving the choice to do so when conditions are undesirable and it would not be worth it to give birth, either for the parents or for the baby.
Life is never worthless. To abort a baby because it may have a disease is saying that those in this life that struggle with handicaps do not deserve to be alive. I have seen two births where the baby wasn't supposed to even make it to term, and the baby is alive today.

The last point, who decides what constitutes "undesirable"?

Abortion should be allowed when

having the baby would directly be a cause for concern for the health of the mother e.g complications that are deemed too high in probability by a qualified doctor or midwife.

The mother is a victim of rape.

The baby's heart has not yet started to beat.

the baby is dead or dieing.

Banning abortion all together would lead to women inflicting damage upon them selves to kill the baby. It would also contribute to the murder of infants as the mother may feel resentment towards the child and later kill it.

This is not a perfect solution but it will have to do. Please stop killing each other over this beacuse it is not good.
As I have come a cross to more young girls that know God beside my sister that had their child out of rape. Know in there heart it wasn't the child's fault. Also knowing abortion can't make another wrong have everything come out all right. There sacrifice is noble, honorable, courages and they have integrity. They have been dishonored ,but can walk with there heads high and with a guilt free conscience. No Shame. Brave to the core. Godly women. Glory be to God.

Did they make their decisions without outside pressure?

No pressure that I know of. Most of what was Known of the rapes came out much latter in all of there situation. They had already made the decision to keep the babies and shared the rape after the child was born. They hid the rape.

Hmm okay, just wondering. I don't want to get too deep into it. Personally, I couldn't do it, but to each their own. And if they and their kids are happy, then good for them. :)

Of course your right its not the childs fault, but that doesnt make it any easier to deal with for the mother and I would see a person who deals with it and keeps the child or atleast gives it up for adoption as a very strong person, someone worth admiring. However not everyone is able to deal with that kind of situation and should not be forced to, ever. If they can deal with it and give life to the child good for them, but if they cant it may not be the child fault, but its not the mothers either.
