definition of Sin is?

I have a question: when one does something that they shouldn't yet they did not realize it was a sin is that a true sin that can be punished? can it have consequences even though it was not meaningful

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death,
he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death.


There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

This is my understanding.


To sin intentionally (knowing YHSHWH and still move against HIM and HIS WORD and WAYS)
is sin unto death.
Confessed, it can be FORGIVEN
because YHSHWH is FAITHFUL.
Discipline is still enforced.


To sin ignorantly (not knowing that a certain act is sin)
is sin not unto death.
Discipline is, still, in order
once it is brought to that one's attention.
Even in ignorance,
one is still treated as a SON/DAUGHTER of YHSHWH.
Discipline is LOVE.
Confessed, it can be FORGIVEN
because YHSHWH is FAITHFUL.

THINK,
ACT,
and
SAY
anything, and I mean anything,
without YHSHWH (HOLY SPIRIT and/or WORD)
is sin.

Sin is the transgression of the law. Whether we realize we have sinned or not is not an excuse. Don't be fooled helpmee, If you have the Holy Spirit living inside you He will reveal this sin to you. He can reveal this to you in many different ways and yes one of those ways is haveing to pay the consequences of the act of that sin. But make no mistake helpmee, sin is sin. God doesn't turn a blind eye to unconfessed sin under the understanding that you didn't mean it or that you didn't know it to be a sin. God hates all sin no matter what form it comes in but don't be disheartened or feel yourself without hope. The Holy Spirit will reveal it to you and you will want to confess it and repent.

I suggest you read the 1st epistle of john, I'm more than sure you will find what he wrote as more helpful to you then I in this matter.

Sin is simply falling short of fulfilling God's will. When we are disobedient, or live for ourselves rather than denying ourselves and following Christ we sin.

Sin is it's own punishment . . . the wages of sin are death, which those of us in Christ need not experience. Sin separates us from God. He pours His blessing upon us all, but some create there own misery and fail to feel God's goodness because of the blindness and coldness sin causes.

I have a 3+ year old granddaughter who is currently the most precious thing in my life, "the apple of my eye". She can do NO wrong "there is no unrighteousness in her". But boy, she sure gets me riled at times and has a distinct knack of trying my patience. I tell her NOT to do something, and that is almost the first things she does. The little stinker! But boy, do I love her. I wouldn't trade her for 10,000 others.

On the definition of sin -

I was once told "SIN" places "I" in the middle -
in other words all sins seem to sprout from the tendency to put myself at the centre of the universe in some sense or another.

I find this a helpful guide.
