JMO but Music is like a gun or fire-of itself it is neither good nor bad - it is up to the user (not the manufacturer) as to its results. I can watch a movie about a prostitue without becoming one, the same with a serial killer. I can watch a cartoon without feeling a need strapping a rocket to my rear end and lighting it on fire..

Fire warms and burns and if guns kill people then all mine are defective.

In all seriousness though, the only stuff I might give that label to would be some of those cases of black metal, what with the church burnings and violence. But I make a distinction between the genre itself (which is, as all genres based on musical composition are, neutral) and the actions/beliefs of some that perform in said genre. Of course, I don't really care for extreme metal - of any stripe - save for isolated tracks here and there. Has less to do with the lyrical content and more to do with the aural punishment involved. I draw the line at some Turmion Kätilöt and melodic death, pretty much.

Also, another thing I've noticed about the inter-webs is that some Christians claim that music that doesn't worship God is evil. False. They may not share my beliefs, but they can still make positive music. Or not all Christians make Christian music. But typically they'll be positive in consideration to the music. For example, Phil Labonte of All That Remains was kicked out of Shadows Fall for holding Christian beliefs. All That Remains isn't a Christian band, but Phil writes very positive music and some actually are Christian-centered
